If we got nothing to talk about, dont talk, discussions in this forum are way to centralised in the specilation thread anyways, no harm to open new threads daily instead of just throwing whatever in here, it just makes the forum feel way more dead and this thread way more messy

Btw, I recently watched their last video where they speculate that we won't be getting a DLC this spring because that content slot has been filled by the console release. They say the next DLC will come in summer.
I don't want this to sound like doomposting but I think this theory makes sense? I'd love it if we got a new DLC this april but it would also make sense to just... not get a new DLC since console will be taking up all the space. Again, not trying to doompost, I'm excited as long as we get a DLC sooner or later, but it's not a dumb thought.
From the reports and videos we've seen, we are getting a DLC in fiscal year 2024, which ends on May 31st.
That theory as mentioned by another youtuber I believe earlier this month doesn't match what frontier themselves have said. The financial report stated a new paid dlc by the end of the financial year which is the end of may. The only way a spring dlc will not come is if frontier doesn't follow their own report and likely upset investors in the process. I can see where they are coming from with the console release taking up development time but we don't know how frontier restructured the planet zoo team, for all we know the jwe2 team could be a skeleton crew at the moment which would explain the lack of a free update.
If we do have more than one pack left, which I still contend is possible, we could also get a regular pack in May, and then a finale style pack in November for the 5th anniversary. Not free of course, just coinciding with that date. That could still get us to 20 new animals with the two packs, with an 8 and 12 split.
I see us once again becoming obsessed with making lists of things we want to achieve in order to temporarily comfort ourselves. Please remember the wisdom from the ancient East: If you don’t give hope, you won’t be disappointed. We can assume that the game is no longer updated. If there is new DLC it would be a surprise, if not it would be expected.
They've indicated there is another DLC to come. Could be more than that, but at least one for certain. Why would we not expect that then?
I think though, it's a good idea to temper expectations of what that DLC will be - it's not going to be mine, or anyone's, perfect roster. Even if it's a Latin America DLC like I hope, my own roster has 2 out of 7 of the habitat animals that I don't care if we get or not.
