Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

That’s why I still with that Asia animal pack would still be something I would buy gladly. They could start with a Baboon on Arabian peninsula then go to Himalayas for Markhor, stop in India for Blackbuck and Monkey, hit China for Père David’s deer and Mandarin duck or pheasant, and maybe even touch base with Pacific Walrus.
I would definitely buy that.
This is something I have been worried about, the final pack is probably gonna be made out of the top choices. But a lot of areas need filler and oddball animals too. Kind of makes me curious to see how the final pack is gonna go.

Gotta say, banger pack, especally combined with the fact that asia needs an exhibit, with my suggestion besides the obvious cobra being the vitnamese mossy frog, for the simple reason that i am a biased man, they are my favorite frogs and common in zoos.
Lovely little buggers and fit surprisingly well thematicly with the leaf insect

We really need an Indian filler animal of some kind, if you want to build an Indian area right now it's basically just all big hitters with elephant, bear, tiger, rhino and gharial. Something like blackbuck, a monkey, axis deer, or nilgai would help to break it up so much.
Asian Small-Clawed Otter, Red Panda, Peafowl, Binturong, Asian Water Monitor, Caracal, Greater Flamingo.

I know not all are strongly associated with India but there is stuff to come for. Though I do also miss the blackbuck and a monkey. And more birds of course.

Yeah binturong, monitor and flamingo i don't consider Indian animals so i wouldn't use them for that kind of section. Specially the binturong which i always reserve for SEA sections and flamingo for European / African sections.

Red panda always got for Chinese / Himalayan áreas as well. Or just being the main focus along with giant pandas.

ASCO and peafowl are deffinetly animals i would use for Indian themed sections and i think they do count as fillers (although the otters are stars in My book haha).

Caracal and striped hyena also work.

I think India is pretty much missing the blackbuck to make mixed exhibits and a monkey. Well, and cobras haha

Speaking of Asia, especially a Chinese or East Asian DLC, I would choose this. Here is my list:
1、We set out from the Himalayas, where wild yaks、kiangs and white-lipped deers run in herds on the roof of the world. In the mountains in the distance, Tahr , blue sheep, and markhor were shuttled back and forth on the rocks.
2、Then we came to Yunnan, which has one of the few tropical rainforests in China and is also where the Reeves's Muntjac and sambar is distributed. It is also the only distribution place of gaur in China.
3、Then we go north to Sichuan, the hometown of giant pandas, where we will meet Golden Snub-nosed monkey and Tufted deer. And in a mountain stream, a family of Eurasian otters is teaching their young otters how to fish.
4、We continued north and came to the intersection of Sichuan, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces: the Qinling Mountains. In this primitive forest, an Asian golden cat is looking for a Chinese Goral based on its scent.
5、Heading east, we came to Shanxi, one of the distribution areas of Golden Pheasant.
6、Then we went all the way south to Jiangsu, the habitat of the Père David's Deer that were once extinct in China but are now successfully released into the wild.In the corner of the wetland where the Père David's Deer are running, a Chinese Alligator is basking in the sun with its mouth open by the lake.
7、Finally, we took a ship all the way north and arrived at the territory of the steller's sea eagle. In the taiga forest in the distance, sika deer were traveling in groups in the forest, and on the trees, two yellow-throated martens were watching. All this while they were looking for a newborn deer calf to serve as their dinner.

As for the exhibit species: King Cobra,Chinese Crocodile Lizard and Chinese Giant Salamander are all good choices.

I counted 15 animals.

But yeah true a lot of species from China that would make great additions. Out of those i personally really want the golden pheasant, reeve's muntjac and the GSNM. Pere david deer and chinese alligator all have great conservation value so would be nice to have. And the yellow throated marten would give us a colorful yet different carnivore. So that and the mandarin duck would complete my list of 7 habitat animals for a Chinese Animal Pack, with the chinese giant salamander as the exhibit animal.

TBH this would also be my preferred outcome for a “China Pack”, you were cooking while making this.

If we weren’t so close to the end of support this would probably be one of my favorite packs of all time. This is the kind of animal diversity in packs I have been waiting for, also while drastically boosting a regions representation.

Man I wish we had more than 1 pack left, I would love to get something like that

I am still really wondering if outsource_lqa was low-key updated for this DLC the last time around. That is entirely possible. And it would explain the internal_01 floating around now... I can't remember a time that popped up ahead of the outsource file being updated (but my memory is also not the best at times for stuff like that).

Also: Does anyone know when that sale ends? I'd imagine we won't get news until after that ends.

I’m gonna guess the dlc will last for a week maybe? We might see more stuff in the next couple weeks.

Is it certain that we'll only get one more DLC? Or could there be more to come?
There could be more but general feeling is that there's only one due to: (a) the game already being 4+ years; (b) the Planet Zoo team shrinking over the last ~6 months; (c) Frontier having two new CSM games on the horizon.

It would be challenging for them to continue with Planet Zoo and simultaneously developing new games given how much the teams have been reduced.

Things might change. And there may be things happening internally that we're not seeing that could make additional DLC possible but... It just doesn't look likely at the moment.
