Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

That's a no-go on increased Scythe Sample power based on the following:
COL 285 Sector WN-Z B14-1
3484 strength estimated
Work = 99 Scythe Samples + 1 Scout kill
WarProgress 0.00 starting at 15:29
~0.028415 expected from samples
0.028965 final
Looks within normal values to me. But that's why we science.
Aww. Was hoping we'd found a new advantage.

Thank you for trying it! I was ever so suspicious about a delivery having apparently twice the effect, but indeed once in a while another Commander just happens to have delivered something at the same time.

Thank you also for easing that system; it means a lot when we are left with something which fits a reasonable evening to complete!

Well no need to worry about the titan being destroyed this week. Seems everyone is bored with it and left already.

Everyone is at the Spire party next-door in Cephei Sector XO-A b3! Some may arrive after the Spire and deliveries are done, although most likely just to secure 2 million in case of a missed one-day Titan destruction at zero Control. Unfortunately there is not much to be done when Frontier decides M. Oya is allowed 30 free Alerts, and 7 Control is enough that many Commanders choose the Alerts instead.

Not sure where you are getting that from. All the Alerts have been cleared and the 9 remaining controlled systems are all over 72% complete https://dcoh.watch/titan/Oya
Must've been shooting at the Titan itself rather than being at the spire. I doubt most would bother shooting at it when a reasonably strong/dedicated force was hitting Leigong at Very High with 10 controls and achieved 50% damage of one heart in a single week.

Especially given the arbitrary extra Alerts last week, I think it is fair to suggest that little is going to be particularly predictable!

Where are you? The controlled systems have all been steadily nearing completion last night and today, which means the direct assault on Oya will likely begin after the Thursday tick

Do note that some Commanders have a very strong preference for attacking the Titan, resistance or otherwise, and have been doing so for a while now! Beyond standard respect for preferences, actually I applaud it—things would be easier for us were more Commanders willing to do it. Last week was a quite good example; we have done a Titan with seven Control before, so in the purely objective sense it is actually a strategic mistake not to have destroyed the Titan earlier.

The direct assault started a while ago, but enough Commanders chose the Alert distraction that such had to become the path forward!

No disrespect intended my comment was in response to someone saying everyone had got bored and left when clearly they haven't

Ah! It lacked a bit of context, but said comment referred to the Titan system Cephei Sector BV-Y b4, for which it is true—as opposed to the Spire system Cephei Sector XO-A b3 or the M. Oya region generally.

Far as the Titan, would note frankly that the initial direct assault last week had my AXI lot, XSF, IXD (Imperial coalition), FUC (Federal coalition), Hive, AGIS, VANS, was noted to Canonn's L69/war division, had volunteers from PDES, folk from buur pit's server, hutton anti xeno, oya-centric groups, t'folk on here, a NEWP event, ran into some old friends from operation ida during my own bombing runs...

Long story short, on the discord side at least pretty much every major group willing to touch the war that I've seen/had contact with stepped in to try at the start of week, along with several good folk here, those that follow the targets, several streamers and their audiences..

...We all saw the numbers and results of that initial hard focus with a weekend 'any and all willing to attack the titan, do so' were not exactly comparable to the average 1 heart per nine hours of taranis at high, even factoring in the 'shoot core after it hit 0/while its down = damage banked for later' bug and any beneficial impact that was having on progress back then.

7 controls (and higher) flatly does not appear a feasible time to attack with view to kill without the full force of Big new thing/new patch, already-half-dead titan, first time and FOMO driving bulk interest like Taranis had, and the main result from the heavy push that I saw was just a lot more sodium regarding the thermal core/vent related issues that remain.

For now with everything covered - Absolutely, anyone interested who might not be around thursday or later, get your hits in while you can far as the Oya titan and rewards.

For future... I'll be trying to get the plan clear to folk for preserving spires Weeks in advance for stuff like Cocijo or Indra at very least when we get there, and where possible would prefer to maximise recapture and minimise both leftovers and difficulty at each titan, given the support pool/what we can achieve on the sampling and on the titan assault front respectively judging from Oya.

We'll have to see how things go from here, when the next shoe of surprise drops on us and such in turn..
In the meantime, I'll go KO for now, 2:35AM is not my friend.

@Jack Brolin Hi Jack, we have met in the open yesterday, fun stuff at the spire :)
And yes, just as Felix, I ain't going to spire. Inara is showing 89% already.
This is a good time to do some other stuff we've been holding back, for example top up some synthesis materials - in my case caustic shards, to get ready for Thursday. Let's see if Oya will let itself be led to slaughterhouse this time ;)

85% is indeed reached now and all indeed are clear to deliver, although I imagine each Carrier-owner involved here can deduce that! That said, a few friendly nudges ought to be quite fine given that we want also the most possible time to witness the result and act upon any unexpected shortfall.

Are we supposed to be stopping at 85% on these spires? Inara's bang on & the rest are mad close

Ideally one would hold with the aim of it never reaching 100% if need be, such as if many deliveries suffer unexpected shipment losses¹ and it looks like we may need the Spire again, but if it will reach 100% regardless then I suppose it could be as well to see it away.

Given last week, I was thinking—actually there is a case for trying to keep the final Spire site anyway, just to guard against more simulation-rule-breaking behaviour. Then again, that would also become the first attempt at a Titan while a Spire still stands, which could bring disaster of its own. I would say that Commanders can choose, but this choice lacks a direct way to oppose it!

Additional:
1. Actually, with this being the largest Research delivery operation thus far, I would be surprised if there were not one or two holds lost to mishaps. Luckily the gathered payloads are some hundreds over the amount needed!

If all goes to plan, Oya's system and surrounding systems will be free from Thargoid control, unlike Taranis or Leigong which have remnant Control systens. FD have repeatedly said to eliminate Controls so two benefits of confirming their recommendation or otherwise, and more certainty around how to approach later Titans

I did 3 Scythe samples yesterday on Hyades Sector FB-N b7-2 (Taranis) . Not important other than completionism, so a downtime activity to avoid burnout on Spire activity (from unannounced pulse shut-downs which in my view could be multiplayer lag as much as un-coordinated attacks)
  • Not sure if sale numbers show in the journal but would be about 350-370 samples I guess
  • System went from 0.179624 to 24%
  • Believe progress is not lost at defeated Titan systems
  • Was thinking to chip away at the three outer systems
  • Is the spire still active and will the 85% rule work on the remaining 10 Controls
