Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

How are we doing with the stored samples for next week?

The same thought had just now occurred to me; I linked to the M. Oya carriers thread, but I think the spreadsheet is more updated. From the original six Control systems, we have:

SystemRemainingCarrierLocation
Cephei Sector XO-A b27698[XSF] Killer's SabreCephei Sector WO-A b4
Cephei Sector XO-A b13173[IEA] HalcyonCephei Sector CV-Y b1
Baiabozo9241[XSF] Baiabozo SamplesCephei Sector CV-Y b1

Remaining here refers to 15% strength minus inventory held, as opposed to the actual order present at the moment.

For the Alerts we have Lyncis Sector KX-U c2-16 at 82% this week, which I believe translates to around 2400 remaining. The remaining two also have Carriers assigned already, and will be:

System15%CarrierLocation
Cephei Sector WO-A b39299[AXI] InvictaHIP 8825
Lyncis Sector WU-P b5-06730Lync WU-P b5-0 SamplesCephei Sector ZZ-Y b3

Those can be gathered while in Alert, although wings such as ours would complete the existing Control first then return to those two after they become Control. As a quick note perhaps for @Grimscrub, the spreadsheet lists the 100% strength for Cephei Sector WO-A b3 as being 69931, which may be an Alert estimate—as Control that should be 61992 to be consistent with the others!

Apologies, had been at work - indeed, shared previously here in case it's useful for any of the alert calculations, had vaguely remembered them being distinct but hadn't had hard reference to offer at the time . Buy order on the Invicta was 10,000 flat just to be safe, hopefully all works out.

Oh, and far as alert estimates, thanks to doing the Samples side of the orth theory double-check,

Perhaps the sizeable progress following the Orthrus-hunting test was enough to decide to complete it; either way, with a previously-estimated strength around 15000 and a strength I suspect now to be closer to 12000, it should be now 2400–3000 more to complete the system. Depending on stored Research cargo, @Blaggerdy may need to watch this closely!
I've closed the order with ~350 samples purchased, well done to all who completed it while I was at work

Tempted to ventcore the titan for a while, or could do a bit of sampling ahead of Thursday if some carriers still have open orders. Won't bother hunting Orthrus at other titans until Oya is done

Looks like Aleks and I had the same idea tonight. I was testing out Team Scythe Sampling at HIP 30158 and I'm about to offload 587 Scythe samples collected over the course of an hour between me and another. And we were both in less than optimized builds.

Thank you! As well as HIP 30158 (now 97%!) being on the possible attackers list next week, we noticed that it had a good few percent already and have been boosting it alongside removing pairs of weaker systems from the same list. Normally we leave a boosted system earlier in the week; this week started with attacking T. Oya then helping clear around M. Oya instead.

I relocated to Col 285 Sector OR-B b14-8 for the next planned pair Col 285 Sector SX-Z b14-2 (1569) and Col 285 Sector OR-B b14-4 (2218) this evening; it is quite fine to read that either as choices to help prior to that or choices to avoid entirely. Unfortunately Carriers cannot list Scythe samples on the market, although I am very happy to open docking access and set a generous reward for other samples—I have been quiet about it and quite hesitant to distract from M. Oya!

If you do more but not at those systems or prefer not to relocate from around HIP 30158, I suggest Col 285 Sector JW-M c7-10 (4855) and withhold the delivery until Thursday. Partial progress will be quite fine there; it will be another attacker we want to remove.

I can start working on that tonight. I just got home from work late so slow start. BTW, scythe sampling got so much better with the SCO drives. No issue travelling to Combat Aftermath 4 anymore

Is that how it works? I thought it had to be the week of the kill?

Anyway, I see Oya's damage resistance now shows as "Very High".

Week as in "rolling 7-day period" in this case. In theory this Thursday-to-Thursday week's attacks should leave Oya with zero Controls defending it; Leigong fell in 2.5 days with three defending it, so Oya might go even faster, leaving little time to get any hits in during the next Thursday-Thursday week.

Now that all of the M. Oya payloads are complete, and on the very slim chance that some Commanders want credits via in-demand Research samples rather than attacking the Spire site at Cephei Sector XO-A b3, I shall try opening Carrier orders around M. Hadad. It will be a quite tough week in the context of stopping attacks, so I am expecting only to be able to reduce their strength a good amount, although a bit of assistance would turn that into a quite effective strangle.

These will all be targeted specifically at its attackers, and the general pace will be that a targeted system is destined to be cleared before the next day, varying strengths permitting. The first is for Scout samples from Col 285 Sector JW-M c7-10 with carrier INV. Wrath of Winter H2V-L3V at Col 285 Sector JW-M c7-11 buying for 500000 credits each.

The order is for 4000; the actual strength should be 4855, although notably @Captain-MD may also be tormenting a Scythe in that system.

Presumably yes; from Titan Rewards Update:
To be eligible for the incremental Titan rewards you will need to do the following:

1) Have done damage to the heat core of a Titan within one week prior to it going into meltdown.
2) You need to have earned a minimum of 2M credits from hitting the core (You earn less credits from the Titan when they still need weakening and have a high damage resistance)

I do not imagine one week prior means it has to be within the weekly cycle in which it explodes. The literal seven-day interval ending at meltdown is the most sensible interpretation, and at a logical stretch I could suppose some small chance that it allows actions which occurred any time in the previous weekly cycle.

Anyway, I see Oya's damage resistance now shows as "Very High".

I really wish that Galaxy map opinion label removed! Everyone focuses on that label, but it is really a distraction from being much better to think of its resistance numerically as 9 Control systems. Either way though, any amount of resistance now does not alter the possibility of missing the action next week, so I suggest still that decal-seekers are wise to secure 2 million credits this weekend.

I can imagine! Closer parking permitting, I imagine also that reaching Alert signals is now much nicer with Carrier outfitting available to switch FSD modules as needed.

I haven't tried signal-dropping yet and may well wait for Oya to fall, but purchased 2 x SCO FSD's (1 to play with on a type-6, the other for Anaconda Orthrus hunting or Corvette sampling)

I did 1 boost away from a star back to my carrier in the Anaconda and was impressed, looks like a good jump range vs supercruise speed balance. Added a AFMU plus class 5 FSD booster so hoping I can have a decent hunt using SCO to get to NHSS-4 Orthrus' more rapidly, then repair the booster to jump back to the carrier in less than 5 jumps!

I was going to hang around Oya til it blows, if I want to make myself useful at this point I should keep attacking the spire at Cephei Sector XO-A b3 and the titan itself, right?

Attack the Spire almost exclusively!

I suggest getting yourself 2 million Titan credits over the weekend just to guard your reward against missing it on the next Thursday–Friday, but otherwise it needs only Spire peripheral progress now.

Roger that! I got 40m ish on the titan already, I've really been enjoying Orthrus hunting at the spire (and I can even solo them now, much to my own surprise) so I'll happily crack on with that, thanks o7

If you just rely on those bonds you have already, you might turn out to have earned them more than 7 days before it dies, and so not get credit for the kill. Best to earn some more this weekend.
