Be honest everyone. Who will most likely purchase the Python MkII..?

I am watching a streamer now with the new Python 2. With 6 PA's... it is not melting. Distro can kinda keep up, seems like it is not holding back the fights in jousting mode. I will need to see the P2 go up against the usual suspects, with all ships G5'd to see how well it does in PvP. It is much more of a shield tank ship and not a hull tank. Sco usage seems very cool and not jumpy under Sco acceleration. That may be it's 'special trick'.

Numbers on paper do not look great, however it appears very capable in the hands of someone who can use it appropriately. I will need to see the release state to make up my mind. But today's early peek makes me think this could be a very useful ship.

Sounds like we can add Fast Boot, from what I've been told and seen on youtube. So SCO + Fast Boot is probably coming.

Also, I'm not sure people have realized yet that this ship (Assuming OC Multis with Auto Loader) will have about 93% of the DPS of the Corvette, but on a medium platform. It's only 1 medium and 2 smalls shy of the Type 10 in terms of firepower, but it's actually going to be able to turn. Using all frags with OC+Screening it's going to hit 412.726 sustained DPS, which is honestly pretty insane considering it will be on a medium.

This ship is going to be a combat monster.

I’m not saying it’s a bad ship. It seems great at what it does, as specialized as that seems to be. Handling looks great, hardpoint placement is amazing, it just seems really limited in its function. Doesn’t seem like a Python at all.

Well, they won't please everyone. Because honestly if Frontier released another medium multirole I would probably have gone "Really?". And they have not indicated it was going to be a multirole, either. It's been marketed as a combat ship that's meant to directly compete with the FDL and Mamba from day one.

From gossip I've been reading tonight, it may well be.
In the right hands, of course (which means not mine) once handling has been learned and the rest of its foibles.

I do think that unless it's incredibly agile it won't break the highest PvP meta, but honestly so few people play at that level, that any shake up for the rest of us is welcome. I wonder how many we will see in Shin Dez next week in supercruise?

Four efficient class 3 PA-s on Python II: 4x103.4~413 MJ damage and 6A armoured monstered power plant seems to be able to feed them along with 6A prismatics and class 4+3 SCB-s.
One huge and two medium efficent PA-s on a FDL are 155.3+2x67.3~290 MJ.

PII unengineered boost speed of ~400 m/s means it might be a bit faster than FDL, too. How it maneuvers remains to be seen, but Zorgon-Peterson C-suite is sweating:p

Between its combat potential, interdiction abilities, and its increased ability to use SCO, it does look like it makes a fantastic ganker…

P2W?

Oh wow it can move then, too. New frag favorite maybe.
Plus frags don't put almost any pressure on power distro, too :) Four OC-d Pacis, two mediums with drag and corrosive should melt everything in their way and you can basically fly it 4-2-0; 2-4-0 almost all the time🤪

EDIT: Just watching Ricardo's video--6A dirty drags, 577 m/s boost and seems pretty strong boost, holding the max speed for a second. Damn, this thing hauls, not really slower than a Phantom!

I'm personally not currently convinced of P2W in Elite since Solo/PG exist. BGS/PP/markets/etc can all be accessed through the invincible wall of Solo/PG so if someone wants to pay $12 to get a ship early that's good at combat, I don't care that much. Anything I fly into known hostile areas will still be able to get away regardless, unless I'm fine with a quick ride back to the station.

Any organized PvP probably won't even let people use it until it's out for everyone anyways. I don't think it's going to outpace the Vette in PvE either, so it's not like it's going to be winning BGS wars or something.
