Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Half of the bios on this planet are quite elusive. While Stratum, Tussock and Bacterium are almost everywhere, the others are not.
Have just scanned Cactoida, which had single digit groups spread out in their biodiversity perimeter while the next batch would be almost one kilometer away.
Next time, I'll have to go and find Fungoida and Frutexa, which oddly enough seem to roughly occupy the same area...

Found some more tribbles...

And, at over 2klys from home, I find one of these in a virgin system:

Greetings all,

My entries in this thread are sporadic, but they go back to the beginning. When Odyssey was released it coincided with my latest Elite burn out. As Odyssey was coming in for landing, I departed, entering my longest break at two years. In that time I kicked around firing Elite up, but the thought of having to remap everything, re-synch everything and who knows what else made me hesitant.

The release of the new Python however was the catalyst to say screw it, let's give it a go. As it turns out my fears were unfounded, as no remapping was required. Cougar, Crosswinds and everything worked straight away. Better than it used to be!

I really like the new ship, engineered it and having fun in PvE combat. I had left the game just 10 percent short of Elite, so that's a goal (very close now)

I also find motivation in chasing Inara badges and ranks. So with the Python taking over as my preferred PvE ship, I swapped one of my Kraits over to an AX ship, and spent a few days checking out the thargoid wars. I've seen many new bug types, battled them, all the while chasing the xeno hunter badge. I tried all sorts of things in various thargoid controlled, invasion and alert systems, like combat aftermath, NHSS, AX weapon fire and the best way to kill scouts, high AX conflict zones. Killed a hunter in a 1 v 1, with no shields and half my hull left. Had fun with this, a lot of effort has gone in to it I think, and I like that the goids have been brought closer to home. I helped 'win' three invasion systems, kicked the bugs out. Hard to know what effect my efforts had, but it felt like I was making a difference, killing bugs and rescuing escape pods.

After exceeding the total to get the badge I saw Odyssey is marked down so bought it. I never wanted this in Elite, but now it's there, so why not have a bash? And it's not bad. Been having some fun with the ground conflict zones, running salvage missions, raid missions and sampling the various options. Next, I want to get out in the black and try out the exploration and exobiology side to the expansion.

So that's what I've been up to.

Thanks mate. It's fun. And there's much that is new to freshen it all up. For the longest time I would say I want a new ship, but there is no ship I want. The Python Junior changed that and brought me back. I feel motivated again and that's great.

Interesting. Was it floating in space?
It was indeed!

Welcome back, commander. o7

I think I've had my fill of city slicking. I like the systems in Colonio but on top of the easy life they have easy access to much unstirred milky way. So I had better be getting up to some exploration.

But Faulcon De Lacey has made a new niche in my fleet with a new and used Python. They remind me a lot of my old sidewinder and feel familiar that way for doing errands and blowing stuff up. The new one even sporting an interdictor and wake scanner and just watch those little wetworks try to get away shakes finger nuh-uh uh uh buhhhdy!

But her fleet's grown out of control like grandpa rupee's did. Well it appears he had 23 ships and Penny has 16.

And the true explorer's joy, I think I'll take the Orca

Welcome back!

If something isn't floating in space, try this simple pilot school remedy for to get it unstuck. 1. Outfit 2. Target 3. Hardpoints 4. Fire or "OTHF ("othuff"). Example using memory mnemonic "Dang it you surface deposit, get othuff there!!"

Well, sense I've been admonished for rampaging the hen house, you can watch this for a good chuckle.

Tell the owner of that henhouse to contact me about an insurance policy AND mention you can prequalify them for the 10% off indemnity when already been attacked by 0threeleven. Then if you don't shoot em again, well I will, and refuse to pay out. AND sell 1T of plasma fried chicken. "Tastes kinda like chicken because it IS chicken - it's just plasma-fried". We'll be rich

10 MINUTES LATER PENNY NOON IS AWARDED AN HONORARY MBA BY THE WHOLE CAST OF SHARK TANK!!

Hmm, plasma fried chicken. Even better than K-fried.

Well my wet work jobs were blowing up Belugas eh I dunno in the end I questioned the ethics of it. But they sure had em lined up right there in normal space for the illegal whale hunting. My record was bagging two whales full and even their gymnasium equipment was breaking down ah well at least it wasn't a cruise Liner. I think I will abandon those last two jobs remainder, and show them up by departing in the Orca later, show them up by reverse protesting them in a more luxurious manner.

That's subjective. But if I don't have eleven herbs and spices, well at least they are still secret. Who can resist the weapon color customization singe marks telling the fierce battle story of a hen who shoulda never gone into hyperspace. Rising from a magma vent wrapped in 1T foil and steaming. Wrap in the scorched hen, foil all around and then push it down with a landing gear. Now re-park. Find the bird-item which should still be shiny and shaped like a flat ovular regular tin of hen (but no poptop). -- Excerpt, from the Noon's Own Rocky Body Campout Cookbook.

Looks like you're headed back to Odens Crag for a respite.

I'm toying with the idea of putting an SCO on my Sploradolphin. To get to those far off planets in multi star systems... not sure though.

Speaking of the Dolphin...

The photo below indicates what, in my opinion, looks like it could be a panoramic sunroof. To my mind, we should be able to look up in the cockpit and see the outside world. I wonder if Saud Kruger would offer it as an optional extra? :D
