Honestly considering we were all so far off base with the last dlc I wouldn’t be shocked if it is once again nothing like we predicted.
Last year I remember talking about domestics/ children’s zoo animals, could it be a coincidence? Maybe, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Frontier has been planning things out for a long time. It’s probably a “ship turns slowly” type of deal. So either it’s one of the popular themes from last year, or in general one of the more popular themes. While it doesn’t rule out another South America pack, part of me thinks it won’t be.
The thing is we werent we were saying especially towards the start that the best time for a domestic pack was spring and many people did have the idea it was just so controversial that the idea got stomped out pretty quickly in favour of south america spam
Here were some of the themes I remember talking about:
- Islands - Oceania and Tropical
- Coastal - nothing yet …..
- Forest/Rainforest/South America (a lot of it was due to Tropical only having one SA animal) - Tropical
- Mountains - got a number of animals in the Eurasia Pack
I don’t know if anyone else remembers what else was discussed.
one that comes up quite a bit still is a safari pack as well as cold climate not mountains pack ideas and my personal favourite idea an education / museum scenery pack.
I really hope the exhibit boxes get reworked, the popularity of it on my wishlist is so obvious, frontier would have to seriously hate the exhibits to not do it eventually. Personally I think we would get something sizeable in the update although not holding up my hopes up with how buggy these large features are.
There are so many small things they could do to make it better like making null walls for the small exhibit, giving us the foliage and assets used in the exhibits as scenry, adding baby models to the bats, sloths and butterflies or even letting us pick the backdrops instead of always using the same tropical tree.
there are also bigger changes I would like to see such as making the iguanas exhibit optional, modular exhibits with both a smaller (in height and width) exhibit for the invertebrates and the ability to make them longer to mimic the longer NOT SQUARE habitats you normally see for large tropical snakes.
Also on the addition of gliding mammals to WTE they could work there but honestly gliding mammals would be perfectly fine as habitat animals (have you seen the cloud leopard jumps) they would just need floaty jump that they could start from climbing something I dont see it being ground breaking and they move too much for the exhibit system to work.
Honestly because of the absolute travesty that is planet zoos scaling the WTE feels alot smaller than it actually is it could easily house most perching birds such as budgies and macaws and would only really be a size issue for the larger birds of prey.
