Introducing the Pax Inter Astra Movement

Here's the relevant and suspected search zone. There's a decent possibility that the first 3 waypoints will traverse this region. If I had guess, Project Dynasty is very high on the suspect list but the data cores are encrypted. Darwin Research Facility asteroid base (hermit base) isn't terribly far from T Tauri and Azimuth Biotech's Hind Mine asteroid base.

That's quite a huge area ...🤓

Checked and I cannot find the exact POI type. I do remember that gold and narcotics were common cargo at these sites (confirmed via searching my journal). These folks don't sound like the law-abiding type. I think some of the Escape pods were listed as stolen.

Planning on getting screenshots and POI type when we come across these. I'll get star types and such. This has the hallmarks of some organization looking for something.

All good !
I jumped my carrier back to the bubble last night, will fill it with tritium today so that it's ready for joining you on Monday 👍

Scientific Report - Waypoint#1 - Col 359 Sector KW-U c3-24 and surroundings
The Allied Order of Exemplars (A.O.E.)
Interstellar Research Division
Darwin Research Facility, California Sector BV-Y c7

The arrival system contained a crashed Thargoid Probe.

Organics classfied in the region:
  • Bacteria Alcyoneum (emerald)
  • Cactoida Lapis (teal)
  • Frutexa Flabellum (emerald)
  • Osseus Spiralis (gray)
  • Tussock Cultro (lime)
  • Bacteria Cerberus (lime)
  • Stratum Tectonicas (lime)

Additionally, there appears to have been human presence in the region in the form of human military haulage vessels. These are suspected of being from the Federation but is unclear as they are almost certainly Lakon craft.

Finally, in a bit of a surprise an artificial structure was located that appears to resemble a pyramid.

Next jump will likely be tomorrow evening. Expect announcements soon on departure schedule.

Departure to waypoint#2 ( Aquila Dark Region BQ-Y c3 ) will be 9PM EDT/1AM UTC unless I hear from one of several people wanted to attend. This will put us a bit more than 700 LY outside the Bubble. There are two carriers presently participating and both are parked at Col 359 Sector KW-U c3-24. The carriers are [A.O.E.] Dharmachakre (X7W-NTZ) and VAGABUNDUS (TZZ-7HH). Please make sure to dock before departure.

Clarification: Not sure of the timezone of the owner of VAGABUNDUS (TZZ-7HH) so they may depart later but [A.O.E.] Dharmachakra will definitely be jumping then unless we get requests for a delay in departure.

My carrier is now close by waypoint 2, positioned in the Aquila Dark Region FB-X b1-2 system, approx 15Ly away - for support and exploration coverage.
I'm following in my ship, sholud be there this evening, approx 22:00 UTC.
I visited your carrier [A.O.E.] Dharmachakre (X7W-NTZ) to refuel and say hi !

Departing for Swoiwns OO-W b35-6. Departure imminent.
My carrier is 14Ly away at Swoiwns LI-Y b34-1.
Could not quite reach Swoiwns OO-W b35-6 as I started my jumps from the other side of the bubble, so I'm slightly lagging behind !
Have been searching the surrounding area but not found anything interesting so far, no emissions / ships / POI at all.
Will be moving my carrier as near to the next waypoint as possible, Prooe Drye RZ-V b49-1, probably today.
And following along in my ship, searching as I go.... :)

This stop I have been doing more mining. Departure is probably still going to be tomorrow evening but may be Saturday night for next waypoint. If we start going through particularly boring sections, the timeframe between jumps may be accelerated. I am trying to give folks some time to explore on the way out there.

Next jump: Prooe Drye VF-U b50-7
Status: believed to be unexplored (at minimum no one has scanned into EDSM)

Next jump for Dharmachakra: very late Saturday evening/early Sunday (game time)

Yes, the galaxy is huge. Even with a carrier, a nearly 12,000 LY journey takes awhile. This is jump list with the next jump highlighted.... next jump will be 2000 LY of 12,000.

Note: Depending on in-game events, we may take slightly different route back (after eventually making it out there). If you see something worth checking, respond to the thread for suggestions.

All good !
Found two Stellar Phenomena located in the same ring of a gas giant, both were intersecting / embedded in the ring.

However, the feature which I find most interesting about these two Stellar Phenomena is that one location had a circle area clear of asteroids / rocks, and the other one did not.
I have tried to show this in the pics 😁
First the clear ring site...

Yes, will definitely continue to search out the unusual and interesting things !

The Dharmachakra arrived last night at Prooe Drye VF-U b50-7. It appears to be a lone star in middle of large star field. Interstellar dust is low and preliminary analysis suggests a higher amount of low mass systems. Science teams will deploy today to determine if the region has scientific merit or whether to accelerate time frame for the next jump. We are presently 982.65 LY from Sadr Logistics Depot asteroid base. The next jump should officially be the first that puts us >1,000 LY from anything human.

I owe everyone an update. Never trust auto-scans on a carrier. There's an Earth-like nearby (Prooe Drye JY-F d12-77), the system we jumped to is upwards of 12 billion years old, there was planets hiding in black there, and I've since found some life.

I am switching to my Orca for some longer range exploration.

Plan likely staying until Friday night and then jumping.

I don't * think* the carrier auto-scans systems ... ? At least, I do not remember that happening for me.

Checking Frontier forum posts, I see many discussions around this - all reinforcing that fleet carriers do not scan systems.

Even if my carrier jumps into a system with me onboard, the scan of a new / undiscovered system only happens when I 'honk' in supercruise and use the FSS.

From memory, the 'basic' discovery scanner used to find all unknown bodies within about 500 Ls, not sure on the exact figure.
Maybe now it is the 1000Ls distance, which applies to some POI ?
I will jump my carrier - /BASE\ - to the next area on the route, and follow along in my ship, looking for interesting stuff.
Do you have certain / specific things you are looking for?
If so, and you can share a list, I will look out for them and keep a record.

The scan happened when I got back to dock where my ship was located. So, perhaps the ship was beginning its' auto-scan regimen since I was in the area (this started before I hopped aboard even). I do believe auto-scan is limited to a certain distance but the "honk" is full system.

Regarding what we are looking - a regional origin story:
  • Age of stars in the area?
  • Are planets same age or newer?
  • Highest mass elements found in the systems?
  • Layout of the systems - flat disks or disordered. Flat disks would largely imply cloud collapse scenario possibly set in motion by nova or supernova.
  • Are there collections of T Tauri or brown dwarfs all around a specific area. The implication here is something triggering mass star formation.
