4.0 by end of December. Maybe? Possibly? Mike says less than 50% of what was in last citcon is coming, so he doesn't care about citcon this year.
It´s not just that is less then 50% of what was announced to come this year, but also that those announced things were among the most simple to implement, most of them visual or user interface in nature for the most part. And also that many of those that have made it are either broken or just plain crap (master modes, new map, new hud, looting screens etc).

The "watershed year for Star Citizen".

Another ~$25K bundle of regrets...

10 yr backer, almost leagtus and not even interested in 4.0 anymore, with every patch i see the future of this gasme getting darker and darker and the fact that every pacth takes longer and longer can only indicate that at the core its either a mess, or just ' impossiblre'. But hey enough other games to play, and still having fun watching some of the channels here.

I like the new map...it works...unlike everything else they've added this year

As for Mikey and Morph being all disappointed and stuff...they seem to be deliberately missing the big picture.

Ci~G have managed to release less than 50% of one patch in 75% of an entire year of development, all of it broken. What's not mentioned in any of the fan videos is that besides servicing already released content and minor additions included in a renumbering of the other half of the expurgated 3.23 patch as 3.24, all production on star citizen, be it the mythical 4.0 patch (initially announced in 2015) or the utter fantasy of a 1.0 commercial release idiocy has now ended for this financial year as we're now into the marketing focused end of year ship sales...citizencon, IAE, etc, etc.

This funding drive is to continue development of the 'feature complete' Sqn404 into next year and beyond (same as it's always been), and not the online marketing platform of star citizen...if anyone has doubts about sc being a marketing platform rather than a 'game'...answers on a postcard, please. This annual funding drive will also tie up the majority of essential game development staff into producing content for those marketing events rather than developing the 'game'...same as it's always been.

I've been involved with this bait and hook marketing shyte for a long time with SC...and unlike 90% of the eternal optimists, my memory hasn't dulled with age :)

The video says "I'm losing hope", but he's still positive about SC and forgives CIG.
Part of the problem (apart from the obvious click-bait) is that once anyone who has so firmly hitched their wagon (and therefore revenue stream) to one product, then they're kind of stuck with it. No matter how their personal dislike or ambivalence may evolve.

In fairness, if SC and SQ were released then these folks wouldn't have what they have in terms of an ongoing 'product' to cover - no matter how painful it may have become for them from bashing their heads endlessly against the same frustrations, defects and endless non-delivery. So, it's kinda lose-lose all round!

As an aside, to his credit Obsidian Ant has done a decent job in diversifying from his original ED-centric offerings, and his move to MSFS was pretty savvy.

4.0 is planned for after Citcon.
Wait a moment... Your friendly neighbourhood dev already said in May that 4.0 was planned to be a Q4 patch?
That seems to have panned out :)

(I searched old posts because I was checking up on notes after I found myself defending CIG devs for that even if they wanted to make a good job of placing a cave, they couldn't 100% prevent players from falling through the seam between cave plug and planet surface because their tools and tech are just that bad)
