We could be closer than we think and get a trailer next week before the unlocked and release early october. It just doesn't make sense to release it closer to PC2

If I have to wait from April to December for this dlc I hope Frontier has a lovely tropical duck prepared to be put in my zoos.Yes same. I expect at least 12 animals if that is the case.
Certainly likely, and I’m gonna guess what’s gonna happen. It makes me wonder if we could still get an anniversary animal? Or what the free update is? Likewise, if there are tie ins with Planet Coaster I wonder if the dlc could relate as well?
I mean next week is the unlocked right? It’s possible, considering the next unlocked would probably be 100% focused on PC2 which would release only a week or so later.
Yes exactly, and they tend to do a trailer 1 or 2 days before the unlocked & then mention it in the unlocked again with some details.
BTW "Victorian" is a building theme from Planet Coaster 1, I've just realized
This is also certainly a possibility, frankly none of us will know until it’s announced. I’m keeping my mind open to everything.
Yeah, I just can’t imagine the October unlocked really being on anything other than PC2. Makes me think we will hear about it in September, but we may not see it for another couple weeks.

As much as I'd love to see that happen, I'm not banking on anything this month. Certainly not a trailer. They might let us know there's more news coming a la that JWE2 DLC teaser but... I'm not expecting anything concrete just yet.
We don't have an officially updated outsource_lqa depot, and even if we count the update last week as being when the timer starts? Usually there's a few weeks between the lqa update and trailer release.
Never say never but I'm not expecting anything next week, personally. I love the optimism, though! And you do raise a good point about the October Unlocked potentially focusing mostly on Planet Coaster 2... So I'm not ruling it out completely.
But I'm at like, 90% we get nothing for September and 10% we get a li'l something during the stream but no trailer.

If it is coming in October then we have to get some news in this month's livestream. If we don't get news in this next livestream then the pack is not coming until December. Like you said October stream will probably be focus on PC 2.
Yeah my thought is, if anything, we get a teaser or some announcement on this next unlocked. Then we get the full announcement mid-late October. So maybe during the October unlocked we may get the dlc mentioned again, but I really expect them to focus on PC2.
Of course, I am more than open to being wrong. I also can believe in them releasing a dlc in December. Or they do what none of us expect and just release the dlc and PC2 side by side.
Frontier hasn't really ever used the Unlocked to dive deep into the content of DLC packs. So it's fully possible to get the pack released in October and then they spend some time during the Unlocked on it but the focus is still on PC2.
I mean, even when they did a bit more time on the Barnyard pack it was relatively brief and the bulk of the time was spent on F1 Manager and Elite: Dangerous.
At the end of the day, I don't think the Planet Zoo DLC will be "timed" around any Unlocked mentions. If anything is driving where the DLC lands it'll be the Planet Coaster 2 release date and how ready or not the DLC actually is. So it could very well be December. But I'm not ruling out October even if we don't get anything next week.

It's not that weird because right now we haven't had a lot of topics to talk about. Winter 2023 most people expected at least two packs in the future which gave options.
Also, since we are “close to the end” most people are sticking to meta wishlist based ideas. Which while it does make sense (though I have my own gripes about that topic, but that’s besides the point) it doesn’t exactly lend to fun new conversations. After almost a full year of the same South America and Zoo Keeper collection people just have run out of stuff to talk about. Yes, while the new “”””””leaks”””””” did help spur some new conversations, let’s not act like they weren’t animals we have been talking about for over a year or more.
Personally I still think Frontier might do something different, which to be honest I might be kind of down for. Even if it has little to no birds something new would be nice. A lot of packs lately have just felt very samey, but maybe that’s because I am an unfortunate bird fan in a Frontier world. I just kind of miss when we speculated some cool and unique packs, like when @KönigDerKaffeebohnen made that garden pack. I’m still a fan of that one.
Personally I would enjoy a zookeeper collection style pack, but I also think a pack for everyone is a pack for no one. Even if the final dlc has monkeys and birds, it would need way more than 1 of each to fix the diversity issues. Which let’s be honest it probably won’t do. Likewise the same is true for South America. Either way, I have the opportunity to mod, and also we can’t claim anything to be true until we see that news.
Yeah i feel like that was a different time for speculation, people were still expecting a couple more packs so there were alot of ideas brought up and discussed. While now everyone kinda assumes that there is just one more so there is naturally less stuff to talk about.
Also the fact that were basicly in the same state of speculation for 9 months now surely doesnt help since everything has already been said more or less.
Also i feel like everytime someone brings up a new pack idea it always kinda gets immeadiately shot down with "Not for a final pack..." or "But south america..."
I can't believe we are still at a "no news point".
Yeah, if we can all collectively agree to stop doing that this place would get a lot more fun.
- All signs point to it, but we still technically don’t know if this one will be the last pack. The financial report muddies those waters even more.
- Chances are the final pack will be divisive. So even if it isn’t your idea of a good final pack, it may be someone else’s.
