Also, there was literally zero need to add a random Party Tent in the background with Base Game props in a pack. It's looking like a Celebration pack.Scenery packs have the zoos and scenery in the background. Animal Packs have the biomes and natural environments. So for a Celebration ANIMAL Pack, pretty sure they would do an environment + zookeeper to bring in the zoo vibes.
Well, you're just assuming this has to be the final pack and using the planco dictionary as evidence that all the animals must be added now or in a sequel. That's the definition of circular reasoning. There is no later though, if they don't get added now. They will be added in 2 years
Going back to the Twilight talk we were having a few minutes ago, I feel like part of the hate towards Twilight was because people thought that the game was ending, and that it was ending in an extremely disappointing way - with 3 animals that are considered pests pretty much everywhere and no Tassie or other highly requested species...That's the way to view it. I'm just happy we reached this far in the 1st place. The game could've easily ended after Europe pack, and I remember how much people said it was gonna end. Then it was repeated for the Eurasia pack
I think we just disagree that a celebration theme is "thematically completely different" than the rest. For me it's just a theme in the same vain as Conservation, Twilight and Aquatics really. Animals centered around a specific "concept"*, which is one of the 3 possible themes they use (concept, biome, location, with Aquatics can be argued to be either biome or concept or both). It's just the first time that a concept would be used for an animal pack instead of a location or a biome, and Frontier clearly wants to keep the two types of packs (scenery vs animal) visually distinct in their marketing, so I get why it would still be done as such, even though I do also understand your feedback on it.Well, it's a terrible marketing strategy. If this pack is completely different thematically than the rest, the artwork should change as well to highlight this.
I would like to get a reptile pack with 2 or 3 habitat animals (Spurred Tortoise, Nile crocodile and maybe perentie) and several exhibits: king cobra, panther chameleon, green basilisk, tuatara and leopard gecko.Honestly exhibit animals have been so shafted throughout the game's lifespan that they almost deserve it lol.
It's funny because the wombat was what I expected to be popular, but instead it was the raccoon and the fox. Not that I'm complaining I loved all the animals and it helped flesh out NA a bit, even though I would've personally chosen other speciesGoing back to the Twilight talk we were having a few minutes ago, I feel like part of the hate towards Twilight was because people thought that the game was ending, and that it was ending in an extremely disappointing way - with 3 animals that are considered pests pretty much everywhere and no Tassie or other highly requested species...
But then 2023 happened.
I explained it in a previous post with Villanelle, that was a stupid point but it pretty much can be true. Also, yes. I will use Planco Dictionary now has a reference due to the reason of 2 of the 8 dictionary animals being shown so far.Well, you're just assuming this has to be the final pack and using the planco dictionary as evidence that all the animals must be added now or in a sequel. Except just looking at the one Pallas cat tells me nothing about the theme of the pack, if it is indeed an animal diversity pack with no limitations on biome or geography. It's just a poor headliner animal for that purpose, especially if the other animals behind it are kept in shadow without color and you can't see it properly. With previous DLCs, the headliner was a good representation of the DLC theme. That makes 0 sense. Why would they change their entire design art for 1 pack regardless of the theme? The packs are recognizable for how they're designed theres no point changing everything about it. Also maybe they only use 1 animal to flagship the pack art because if they had more than 1 animal the art would look messy and crowded. I personally like how they've done the art style.
To this day I love twilight because it gave us silly woodland crittersIt's funny because the wombat was what I expected to be popular, but instead it was the raccoon and the fox. Fair point, animal packs don't have humans. But if you wanted to highlight the "Zookeeper" theme, maybe make the zookeeper a bit more prominent so you don't have to look for it. The design of DLC cover art should convey its theme easily without viewers needing to search for it. That zookeeper is easily missed if you're just browsing through the DLCs. So it's still an odd choice apart from highlighting only one animal and obscuring the rest. They added Visitors because it was supposed to show the Scenery off of the pack your buying, all of those are scenery packs. We have never seen a Human Being in an Animal Pack as its only animals seen.
It quite is prominent though, its shown feeding the markhor habitat in the background.Fair point, animal packs don't have humans. Nah, my eyes are just drawn to the cat. You can easily miss that zookeeper shadow. I would be shocked if this pack contained "Zookeeper" in it. Imagine a DLC being called Zookeeper and you just see a fat cat headliner and then you have to squint to see the zookeeper. Poor design choice imo.It quite is prominent though, its shown feeding the markhor habitat in the background.
Okay, I'd just like to say that those who keep saying this DLC is consistent with the artwork of previous animal packs have forgotten that previous animal DLCs have a purely graphic background art style, while this DLC has a somewhat in-game style (albeit blurred) which we only saw in previous scenery packs. So technically, they already changed the art style somewhat, just not in the direction I think they should have for selling an "animal diversity" DLC.I think we just disagree that a celebration theme is "thematically completely different" than the rest. But hey, agree to disagree, I'm not here for an endless back and forth with more all caps with every message. It's all in good fun, at the end of the day it's the animals we're getting that matter, in 5 years time we won't care about what animal came in what theme.
* For the lack of a better word really
In the US (Zootieiste) there are 69 holdings of White Tailed Deer, of those I have been to 1 of them (quite sad to be honest) and plan on visiting 3 others (OKC and Fort Worth notably) but they are either small AZA zoos and non aza zoos and almost all of them are in the south. Which I believe both are you from. I have visited roughly 50 zoos (give or take) and almost all of them have been AZA.I question how many zoos you’ve been to/are aware of if you think white-tailed deer aren’t in any, even speaking hyperbolically. What an absurd statement.
Probably not, but it would be nice.Do you guys think we have a chance of seeing another heavily requested remodel in free update like Tapir?
