News Elite Dangerous: Ascendancy | New Release Date and Release Schedule

Honestly, making the new ships only available for ARX is a crap decision. Almost makes me wanna uninstall again (n)

Which is not true, new ships are always available in game for credits, and after the early access period is over all the new ships they are releasing at the moment will be also, it's never happened that a ship hasn't been available for credits in game, but sure you go ahead an uninstall based on something that isn't true!

is power play 2.0, the game is about to go through another release like Odyssey did. Good luck with the release FDev. This is not the power play anyone wanted.
Well we will see soon- I looked at the video and its people trying to be funny explaining something they obviously don't care for or want to understand.

Powerplay already went through its EDO moment back in 1.3.

The ships will be available for in game credits sometime in the future, it says in the OP.

Well, it seems that content creators in the Partner Plus program have access to information the rest of us don't
That's not true. We don't get any extra info like that (I wish!).
and one streamer (I won't name just in case) also says Thursday (31st October 2024) for the Type-8 being available for credits.
That was 100% speculation on their part then.

Which makes this untrue!

They will be available for credits, just not on the date of release!
So it’s not true until the early access period expires. Then it will be true, though the Mandalay will make it false again, as will, in all probability, the fourth ship.

Aside from Galnet News being cheeky as usual, I see something that I'm actually curious to try.
Since it's all shaped by the activity of the players, and in a more enjoyable and less dictatorial shape, it might lead to interesting scenarios.
Who knows?

In any case, I'll be looking forward to the complaints, after its release because, as it always happens, aside from the well argumented critiques and well made points (and there are always several good ones), there will be a plethora of creative whines, which are normally pure gold.

I can't speak for anyone else, but everything I've seen so far makes this seem like the Powerplay I never knew I wanted but now really do. And "Powerplay" was the last feature I expected to be that excited about. It really feels - coincidence, I'm sure! - like Frontier have looked at some of my forum complaints about why the game just doesn't feel "right" and come up with a far better unified solution than I'd have thought of to them. Over the last six months I've gone from "well, that's an interesting choice but I bet Rubbernuke will be thrilled" to "I'll just stick around in the bubble a bit longer rather than heading straight back to Colonia, in case it turns out to be good" to "Kaine for Prime Minister!"

It certainly achieved that by making design decisions which won't appeal to some other players [1]. It's absolutely right for it to be opt-in rather than a "choose your power" screen appearing once you complete the tutorial with a new CMDR. But just as the Thargoid war roughly tripled the number of participating AX squadrons by taking decisions which some players found very unappealing, Powerplay 2 could also be a success without needing to appeal to everyone.

(And yeah, there'll be bugs, and there'll be rebalancing needed as players come up with creative ways to break the system, and Frontier almost certainly knows that. But the foundation looks like one of the most solid that Frontier has ever done, with the benefit of ten years of seeing what works and what didn't previously, so that should be fine.)

[1] I have often countered the argument that "Frontier should listen to players more" with "you'd hate it if they listened to me specifically more".

The only ship variant that is for Arx only is the Stellar version, which includes a ship kit and Paint job.
When the ships are available for credits in-game (3 months after the Arx 'early access' period) you will be able to buy the base ship and decide of you wish to spend Arx on kit & PJ, kitting the ship with modules of choice are also credit purchases, regardless, so only having a new ship during the early access phase requires Arx.

But, if it is "uninstall again", then yes, perhaps you might consider that, as the game doesn't appear to be able to retain your attention consistently, new ships or not. 🤷‍♂️

totally different genre. I won't lie I am pretty excited for PC2

I dunno...... they need to sort out the rampant attacks , and ideally add.a chance of being attacked inside a station as well? but over all I think it seems. clunky but ok. I will give it a go I think
