News Elite Dangerous: Ascendancy | New Release Date and Release Schedule

The fact is that today (and until Frontier make it available to buy for credits) there is a ship that is only available to you if you pay ARX. I don't like this change in the release conditions for ships, others don't seem to mind at all.
The statement "only available for ARX" blatantly and purposefully misrepresents the facts to paint a negative picture of the ships being only obtainable for money and not through in-game means. It's simply not true that the new ships are only available for ARX but also for credits and a bit of patience, and I suspect most of the people reiterating that phrase know it, but prefer to ignore it.

you know that kinda makes me think...
is cobra mk4 pay to win?

The Ships only being available for ARX is a limited time. It allows people who wish to purchase them do so. IF and its a big IF elite see a trend of people willing to purchase ships early this will prove on a business front that it should take a priority. It could become self-sustaining. An for those that don't wish to support this function you can simple wait and get them normally.

I'd like to note that the new ships will only be available for credits (after EA phase) for Odyssey owners. For Horizons-only players, the statement "only available for ARX" remains true AFAIK. In light of the cheap upgrade costs it's a somewhat technical detail, but given the emotional reaction of some posters, it should be kept in mind.

Months of talking about whether PP should be Open Only and now the forums wants it to be safe even in Solo - couldn't make it up :)
Some players only play in Solo; the only time I go into Open is if I am doing Fuel Ratting. Why should I subject myself to a set of unruly ganking tosspots when I can have the peace and quiet of playing by myself without trolls trying to spoil it? There's enough of that sort of thing IRL without going into the ED universe and finding it there too. And that hermit-like attitude should not preclude a player from being able to use the features they have paid for, whether they want to interface with others or not/

you need to read more . all these ships you can get with ARX if ou want the head start but they also will be in game for sale a few months later .

Oh, nice to see you, I did not even know you reinstalled. :)
I heard about the new updates, so ofc I'm gonna check in :D
But I really dislike the idea of having ships being available with ARX and only available for in game credits after an undisclosed time.
I was actually looking forward to try if the Mandalay is PvP viable, but I guess I either need to pay or I will have to wait 🤷‍♂️

Yeah true, p2w sucks.
But the Python Mk2 is no longer a Paython Mk2, you can buy it for credits now and it's totally PvP viable. :)
