DLC 19 Speculation

My take on an temperate pack, I don't think it's particularly likely personally

North American Black Bear
Sea Otter/NA River Otter
Reeve's Muntjac
Chinese Alligator
Golden Pheasant
Short-Beaked Echidna
Black Swan

Like I said before I still really want a wild SA camelid. Domestic species don’t fill the niche for me at all. It’s like having an alpine goat but no ibex nor Markhor.

I think the new pack might be more focused on warmer biomes rather then colder ones.

I find it so incredibly weird that people think it's anything but a confirmation. Like, the way they said it it's extremely obvious that the "we maybe have something more" was just a tongue in cheek kind of way of saying it? I genuinely don't understand that people took that "maybe" literally instead of just a way of teasing which it so obviously was.
Because nuance and inference is dead and the internet killed it.
Besides that like someone else has pointed out english and subtext are not some peps first language and people are definitely paranoid right now so people are assuming the worst.

There are a few reasons that smart, reasonable people might have interpreted the teaser differently, no need to call them "weird".
Sigh, I never called people themselves weird, please don't twist my words like that :p

I just said it was weird that people (as in, a large part of the community here) seem to think that Frontier would tease a DLC and then not do anything with it. Given Frontier's track record that's just a weird thing to think. AKA, thinking that they would tease a DLC and not release one is weird; not people themselves; people can say, do or think weird things without being weird themselves. Even smart and reasonable people can 😅

Anyway, I'm not going to discuss this ad nauseam, so I'm going to leave this here. Just know that I never had the intention to call people weird so please don't twist my words in a way that does so ;)

Let’s be clear this community is weird and not only sometimes. We represent many regions countries views needs and experiences so I never expected us to agree on everything. Especially that we normally never do.
On that note happy holidays to all of you whether you celebrate it or not 🎄🌲🎅

Oh I would love Guanaco.

I mean I understand from many perspectives why it's unpopular, mostly from niche over-representation(both Artiodactyla and Camelids), but since I don't categorize my wishes that way, Guanaco is still pretty high.

I mean, speaking of SA, so is Tapir
While it's not as high on my wishist as other SA animals, I would still like to have the guanaco or vicuna as I don't really like using the llama and alpaca mixing with other South American animals. I'd love to have a wild species here.
I personally like the vicuna a little more, they look a bit more distinctive and not so llama and alpaca like but as I found out that there aren't basically any vicunas outside of Europe and SA, the guanaco would probably be the better choice.
(Btw, it's interesting that not even in the US there are vicunas, from my European point of view they are quite common)

Hi Iben, first of all big fan so no beef no shade, I hope. Let's just sort this out quickly so there isn't any lingering bad feeling. I don't want to discuss this at length either but I'd just like the opportunity to explain myself quickly since you've had your say.

First of all it was a tiny thing and I didn't make a big deal out of it, I just wanted to step in for the people who were being excluded by the conversation and back them up a little bit. I deliberately didn't quote you or tag you so I wasn't trying to call you out or twist your words. There were a couple of people commenting and the overall tone and impression of the conversation was a bit ridiculing of people who weren't in on the joke. Saying something is weird to think is actually very similar to saying someone is weird, and it can give the people who are being targeted the same impression, especially on the internet where tone can't be felt. But it wasn't just that word, it was the cumulative impression of the conversation that built up. Sometimes on here there is a condescending / harsh tone that comes out (not from you personally, and I won't name any names) but I do stand up sometimes against it because I'm aware of how it can impact people who are feeling vulnerable. My little brother has autism so I'm probably a little overprotective of certain people for that reason. I didn't mean to make you feel bad in any way and if I did I'm really sorry. Hope we can be chill going forwards.

Change Black Swan to a turkey or another NA bird then I will gladly pay 20$

A zoo somewhat close to me here in the US used to have them, so I was lucky enough to see them when they did. I think they were like one of two holders in the country at the time. I don't know if the other facility has them still. I'm not super keen on getting another camelid, but they are super cute.

According to Zootierliste there aren't any vicunas in the US anymore.

To be fair, Zoo Tierliste is very accurate when it comes to german zoos and maybe european zoos, but within the US I doubt their data is complete.
Isn't probably wrong but for North America or at least the US the data on zootierliste should still be relativerly accurate, especially when it comes to species like vicuna. In the first weeks after the ZTL went global, there have been a lot of registrations of American zoo nerds. They did some crazy work and added a lot. So, if there were some vicunas in public institutions, I'm sure some zoo nerds would know and have already entered it.
But for other areas in the world other than North American, Europe and maybe Australia and New Zealand, I guess the data are less complete.

The IUCN also says there are no vicunas in North America:
