Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

My main problrm is that, although I'm able to remember all the flight controls and stuff, remembering where to look for a specific biosign eludes me. Which then leads to many hours spent searching for stuff that might be easy to find if you know where to look.
Having a non-existent playing schedule, resulting in playing for an hour that day, playing three hours five days later, just to return to the game for half an hour three weeks afterwards, doesn't really help in that matter, I guess.
I have that play schedule too, which is why I have all the relevant bits of Canonn bookmarked to look up where things are found (and BioInsights has some good info too)

Sure. But is it a pain in the aft to always have to tab out of the game to look something up. Besides the fact that this always puts a strain on my already struggling laptop.
Not to mention that it severely tears the flow of the game apart.

What a slog..........

Hi All :)

Whew!...been busy with RL stuff most of today, I'm just worn out now. Just booted up the game with a cup of tea and finally put my feet up. 😩
Yes. For a while after Odyssey launched they were called Outdoor Worlds instead of Earth-like Worlds, which is what they always were called before. Just a bug or glitch. Now they are labeled Earth-like again.
Ah, I thought as much but wasn't entirely sure. (y)

So ...I'm at the moment looking through the (my) Codex--Discoveries--Astronomical Bodies--Terrestrial Planets--Earth-Like Planet.
I tend to forget about the in game information , so I'm surprised at what info is recorded there. 😲
It states various figures for largest mass, smallest mass, highest gravity etc. etc. for the given area of the Galactic Map, Inner Orion Spur, Hawking's Gap etc.
I'm wondering how up to date is that information and accuracy, does anybody know?...how 'Official' is it basically.

Okay, time for me to plot my next Carrier Jump back to the bubble, I'm in the PRUA DRYOAE sector area currently, so not much further to go! :D

Jack :)

I believe it's mostly accurate, although the Codex is known for being a bit buggy and incomplete in some cases. Also, it's not a personal record of stuff, other than the "confirmed" bit (which means you have located the item yourself). Overall, it's sort of not what people wanted, and FDEV never did fill in the "rumored" stuff.

Nice. I ended up in Tier B with one quickish trip to HIP 50578. Though I suppose I'll drop down as more people participate. I haven't played for a couple of months and had no cart data so I just got a scan of each body along the way. Along with FSS, of course.

It also occured to me that I haven't fought a Mamba in all my time playing since 2020. I was a little surprised I even saw one while randomly scanning in supercruise. Very weird how they're so elusive. Just a sidenote.

I also tried exobiology for the first time after scanning a planet with four different biosigns. Kind've surprising. I technically dabbled before this but was put off by the fact you have to scan three different samples of each. Though the whole process seemed more fluid this time and not so irritating.

No first footfall though so the payout wasn't great.

The fungoid was a pain to find again so I just gave up on that one. I was really there for the community goal.
