Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

System colonization seems like a great addition to the game. The only drawback seems to be the fact that all special locations are not special any more. Far away systems or ones with a distinct topology now already have 5 new inhabited systems around them.

Same way sco drives took the awe out of big systems. But overall very well done, and both very well implemented lore wise.

Alright nevermind my comments about increasing costs with buying materials... You get money from getting it to the colonisation ship???? what???? And the price for some is even higher than what i bought it with, making system cost even cheaper than 25 mils. Is this supposed to be end game content or what?
You don't spend money end-game here, you earn it a lot and fast.

At a minimum CMM stockpile size needs to be increased so that a single station can store between 1000 and 2000 on top of the replenishment being set to a reasonable, manageable rate, i have spent the past 15 hours hauling materials to be 30% complete with my station solo, and yet i am still ( grabbing as much as possible each run ) missing 12900 CMM, at the current rate of replenishment it will take me another ~400 trips to complete jsut the supply for CMM.

So it's occurred to me this morning that unless you're actually on the colonisation carrier, there's no way to know what's still to be donated.

This is especially a problem if you're working as part of a player group as I am.

We need an interface in-game so we can check this.
We have but it's a bit clunky, go to galaxy map and from there go to the system map and click on the colonisation ship, a list will pop up with the needed commodities.

Why everybody think they will get new own starport in 2 days ? :D
It is shared economy. Doing like that is slowing everybody.
Instead starting own project - help random other for now, prefer that guy who will build CMM producers.
Also there is BGS, manipulate is somewhere to raise existing supplies somewhere as usual.

o7 What about BGS, how is the controlling faction determined in the system being colonized? Does it belong to a squadron or who? How is it determined who owns a system in BGS?
The controlling faction in the colonized system will be the one that is the leading one in the system from which the application is submitted.

It's a forum thread asking for feedback on the costs of colonisation. People are quite reasonably reporting a major bottleneck in the new feature.

If not for the bottleneck that is CMM Composite, I could have made my Coriolis starport in 2 days of hardcore hauling.
