Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Beta Details & Feedback

I would like to see some kind of progress on contruction. Like a change at 25%, 50%, 75% say. It kinda sucks haulling all that stuff and not see any progress other than the bar going right.

On a different note, the construction orbital sites finallly disappeard leaving only the installations. they are in the wrong spot though. Happened twice now.View attachment 420993
Yeah I said this on day one of the beta and apparently someone said that FDev had said, in a livestream, that some partial progress model was planned, or at least had existed in some conceptual form. I forget which.

My thought was it would be neat to see some Death Star type of "in-progress" model. Where it's just a skeleton of the thing. Or maybe some NPC doing some spacewalk welding.

Is anyone else still unable to buy a custom name for their' outpost/settlement/installation? Trying to figure out if this is a common issue or if I need to put in a ticket.

One solution is palpable, which is that the new colonies only allow the commander to advance after completing a certain number of points in order (score) to progress further. Otherwise, we will have a monotonous galaxy full of outposts like a clay pavement in ancient cultures.

My Coriolis Starport didn't have a shipyard. They usually have. Is that normal?
Yes. I've colonized two systems where I built a Coriolis station first (and currently it is the only facility in the system). Both of my Coriolis stations do not have a working shipyard. Universal Cartographics is also disabled.

Earlier in this thread someone said that by increasing their tech level by 1 point, the shipyard activated. They also said that increasing the tech level further increases the number of ships that are for sale.

I have a planetary settlement I have built I cannot land in (restricted area).
I also have 2 large settlements I have not initiated the build on.
I have tried putting supplies into these construction sites and it is registering as 0% progress.
All in all...meh

I'll test this out. I built an exploration hub which was apparently supposed to increase my tech level (or was it my entertainment/ tourist hub?) and to build both of these things I had to build their respective space installations, which I think also upped my tech level. I haven't checked my shipyard since I did either of those things.

See my earlier comment (below). It's odd because it's possible that FD had created these assets (if only for the Ocellus) and didn't use them or perhaps they are just renders used only for that trailer.
So am I right in thinking we are not going to see the various stages of starport construction as originally shown in this video? i.e. phase 1 after week 1 and so on. That's a pity.

There seems to be a bug that makes building military hubs impossible since the game believes requirements are not met, even though they are. An issue has already been opened and I've just contributed to it: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/73060
Please vote/contribute there if you face the same problem.
I haven't read through the last ~160 pages, so I apologize if this has already been discussed.
Yeah similar things have happened to me, if it's the one I'm thinking. My exploration hub, for example, required me to build a comms array installation and when I did that it was still greyed out and didn't have a requirement argument in red letters, as it normally would. It seems like backing out of the menu and maybe re-placing the object clears this up? Or that enough time went by and it cleared itself up. Not sure which. Similar issues with my tourist site as well, after building the necessary space object.

Things look different in this case if I understand you correctly. I can't place the hub because the requirement argument in red letters is still there, demanding a military installation that I've already built. I've already tried multiple times and even waited for the weekly tick to go by just in case.
Screenshots of this happening to another commander and to me are attached to the linked issue.

Across my colonies I now have two T2 Odyssey settlements that have a market, but neither import nor export anything. Kinda useless.

The controlling faction in my system is at "happy" but the system's happiness is still 0%

I've got a civilian outpost, a large high tech settlement, a relay, a satellite, and a security station built. The outpost finally opened up after going through two weekly ticks but is still only selling fuel and biowaste. The system is Colony/High Tech but isn't importing or exporting anything at all according to the galaxy map trade data.

Edit: I'm kind of wondering if we have to run missions to increase the happiness.
my rating is 12 and 80,000 cr, your rating is 16 and 160,000 cr. What is the level of wealth and standard of living in your system?

And is it possible to see the general statistics of the system using game methods? The 4th panel only shows the statuses of the factions and all my factions are happy.

What would be nice......
The ability to build without hauling goods.
Hiring pilots that could bring some of your ships to take goods to your building project
To be clear this didn't happen for me at all.

I just got the confirmation email from devs................

"Hey CMDR,

Thanks for getting back in touch.

You are correct. Apologies for the oversight.

Your aligned faction is Black Alliance Industries and it should've been added to LHS 3213 as a third faction but I can see that this did not happen.

We suspect that this system is currently not working as it should and please rest assured that this is currently under active investigation.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

If we can help with anything else, please feel free to reach out again."

some kind of wildness. when we select a construction object, we are shown bars of influence on the economy and development of the system. But we cannot see the overall level of development of the system after the objects are put into operation. Now I will have to build one object per week and see how it changes... what? the bill and payments? FDev, do you seriously think that I will spend a year hacking your logic?

Yeah I mentioned before that it would be sweet if we could buy and assemble extra hauler builds to have our three crewman help fly the parts to the site in question, with a small chance of interdiction and loss of all or some of the cargo (failure) of course. Of course, if you're building them a 5-10K MJ Cutter with actual hard points then there should be little chance for failure lol You wouldn't need to outfit them with max cargo capacity. Just enough to help, like 400T.

It would be cool if you could have 4 pilots and you have to provide the ships and many fighter pilots to protect them. You could get a message if they are under attack and fly to them to protect them if you are near.

Wish they would add better filters or combine them more, on the star map. Finding it hard to find a system that has a bit of everything in to colonise just got a system with one sun at the moment.

It would be cool if being an Architect meant your Starports never scan your ship on the way in.
Would be nice if staff salute you or look lively as you walk past. And on the you carrier too.
Perhaps they can talk about you behind your back if there is turmoil in the economy.

Is there a way to find out stats (tech level, etc) for my star system? How to check already built installations about their type and stats influence?

Material Costs are about right for 1 Commander.
Claim costs Might be a little Low.

The Architect screen Points system is hard to Understand.....
What are those 2 numbered things top right ?
which one is which ?
How about labeling them tier 2 and tier 3 so we know where we are at ?

Also Burnout is real......

Arx costs are always too High ........
(Custom Fleet carrier and station Interiors for ARX when ? )

I've been using this spreadsheet someone made to keep track of my stats.

According to it I'm currently at 8 Security, 10 Tech, 2 Wealth, 5 Standard of Living, and 7 Development. It's also worth nothing that my outpost doesn't have a shipyard or universal cartographics yet.
