I wonder why it was so named?....is it a sort of replacement for the Imperial Courier or the Clipper?...I mean, it
looks birdlike as some people have pointed out, so would it have been better to marry the name with the design in keeping with the overall concept.

Ships names are usually sometimes based on what they're trying to portray, for example the Cobra, Python or Asp all seem to me to be hinting at different snakes, notably the head of the snake, and the Cobra especially try's to mimic that particular snakes more dramatic head features by being more or less wide as it's long.
'Corsair'

..."Corsair is a noun that means a pirate who attacks enemy ships with permission from a government" (taken directly from the Cambridge dictionary).

...yeah, I suppose that makes some sense in relation to this game. So, is the design and function weighted more with players in mind who would favour a pirate career in the game?
I still reckon the name would have been more suitable to a bird with a more aggressive nature / name, maybe Griffon or Condor, though as other players have likened it to a Toucan or similar large beaked birds, all I can say is "If the name fits"....why not?
I've just been looking up different species and flavours of Toucan like birds btw. here's one or two for example...Toucanet...Tepui...Aracari. 'Aracari'?....now that sounds more descriptive to me, and has a nice ring to it!
