Nothing is better if those are the optionsAs long as we get the coati, I wouldn't mind any of the NA critters such as bobcat, bear, or white-tailed deer.
Elk isn't too high on my personal wishlist but better than nothing I guess.
I'd give any rodent for my beloved White-Tailed DeerNothing is better if those are the options
Elk is cool, but i wouldn't trade it for my mara![]()
Probably won’t announce it similar to how JWE2 ended out of thin air. Bad part about it is since our packs currently are 5-6 months apart, if the next one isn’t actually coming, that’ll be a long time to wait just for nothingjust a question, when the support for frontier game ends, do they announce it? like will they say that no more dlcs are coming ?
ExactlyPersonally I am an American Flamingo defender, I’m so happy to have one more flamingo. Flamingos are super common zoo animals, and I have even been to zoos with more than one species. The Bronx Zoo sticks out to me for that.
It is also a vibrant color which the greater flamingo really lacks. On top of being a bird for the Americas, which must I remind everyone we haven’t had since….. ever.
With all that being said the American Flamingo is a perfect free update animal! Just like the black and white ruffed lemur it is still a super common animal in captivity, dare I say it should have honestly been in base game over its predecessor! I am so happy the American Flamingo came in a free update!
Jokes aside I totally get people feeling like a DLC slot should have gone to a different animal, I would strongly disagree with people calling it wasted. Boring though? I can definitely see it being boring. Considering how many animals get to come in duos or more (gibbons, tigers, elephants, lemurs, tortoises, crocodilians, etc) I am very happy to add Flamingos to that list.
Also this is the first habitat animal for the Caribbean, where I am currently living!

I have seen more people ask for jackals over coyote but both have never been highly requested because we already have so many dog. There's no way it's an American deserts pack. There's no way this is to make up for the Arid pack. If this was to make up for global arid environments, then we would've seen hints of other animals, not just those from the Americas. And yes, technically the coyote could actually be a jackal and the sheep a Barbary sheep, but really, nobody asked for a desert pack since Arid came out, only for a handful of animals. And we got the most requested ones, being the baboon and the tortoise.
The rhea (because if it's an ostrich, that's a waste) and the saki (if it's truly that) are clearly South American. The only flamingo being requested is the American flamingo; anything else would be a flop, relatively. The only dog in the Canis genus that was asked for was the coyote; nobody really asked for jackals (as far as I remember).
The scenery is also heavily inspired by Mexican culture. That doesn't mean anything, of course, because we did get the Tropical Pack, and it had Indonesian temple pieces for the red river hog and fossa
Most the backdrops featured in trailers and key art is usually set in the scenario zoo so most of the scenery would be entirely don in game with maybe the animals using a dev build for posingThis brings up a separate question. How much of these key arts is done in game?
I feel like the alpaca was redundant but either vicuña or guanaco wouldn’t be because there’s enough of a difference between the domestic and wild types as well as the obvious difference that they fill different in-game niches (I.e., wild vs. domestic). My main problem, simply put, is that we already have it - or rather, we have two very similar alternatives.
A wild South American camelid would be really cool, but since we already have both of the domestic alternatives then it would feel very redundant.
If we didn't get the alpaca in Barnyard, then it would make for an amazing addition... But sadly we already have llama AND alpaca
yeah i feel like im in minority but i would genuinely not mind wild llama, but thats probably because im an ungulate fanI feel like the alpaca was redundant but either vicuña or guanaco wouldn’t be because there’s enough of a difference between the domestic and wild types as well as the obvious difference that they fill different in-game niches (I.e., wild vs. domestic).
What interspecies enrichment bonuses and biomes do you think the confirmed animals will have?
Also Baird's tapir and giant anteater. We have them together here at the Houstom Zoo, along with capybaras and southern screamersGreater Rhea - Capybara, Spectacled Bear, Alpaca, Llama
My early childhood zoo (Bergen County Zoo in Paramus, NJ) has a combined paddock for rhea, Baird's tapir, capybara, and (insane rarity for an otherwise small zoo) red brocket deer. Also Baird's tapir and giant anteater. We have them together here at the Houstom Zoo, along with capybaras and southern screamers
