Hi All
Oh Dear. I just accidently shot a CMDR in Mobius and while I was trying to work out the messaging thingy (still don't know how to use it!!) managed to drift close enough to them that my turrets opened up.
I desrve to be in Solo
I wish Fdev would take a look at the chat system. It's so clumsy to use.
I haven't really looked at voice chat since I usually don't have a mic in anyway.
Chat definitely requires a keyboard. I think there are some commands you can type in chat to adress someone, but I'm not entirely sure.
I'm glad you folks pointed this out with the chat system, I thought it was just me.
This is just one of the reasons why I rarely play in Open, but it's one of the main ones. Clumsy, yeah, that describes it quite accurately, and it doesn't seem to give a clear indication of who is contacting who, at least I seem to have a problem with it.
I found this very frustrating when being attacked by another / other players in Open, the chat system is not 'snappy' enough to get your messages out quickly....mind you, to be fair some of these players aren't interested in sociable chat anyway.

...I'm not sure how it could be improved though without some extensive re-programming and maybe a different menu format?
What am I doing

....I'm still outside the bubble mining, I want to get some good stocks of Osmium, mined Gold for those station missions I mentioned, and the usual Platinum, but it also depends on how long I mine before I get distracted and want to do different stuff (real life
and in the game).
About the Corsair...what's the maximum speed for this ship if it's engineered with that in mind, (minus the weaponry and other modules etc)....I'm thinking roughly along the lines of how you would say kit out a Mandalay for general exploration as an example?
I'm trying to think of a real use for it. I've briefly read on the forums that some players think it would be a good core miner, but my Corvette's been engineered for that and does a pretty good job at it. I'm not generally into combat unless it's connected with missions, and from what I can gather it's not an all out trader, unless it can land on medium pads?...it
might be useful that way, for any interesting missions that needs the ship to be able to use those...

My Cutter's my usual trading ship for those stacked trade missions, but obviously it's limitations of having to use the large pads can be a hinderance in some situations.
Oh yes, the graphical 'stuttering' that's recently been highlighted in the game. I'm experiencing that too but until now it's not been any real problem. It's not too long ago that I was experiencing stuttering generally in some parts of the game, but this was due to the valiant efforts of my MSi Nvidia 'Gaming' X 1060 3Gb GPU

...so I just accepted it.
I retired that card when I re-built my current 'gaming' pc the end of last year, and bought an AMD Radeon Sapphire RX7700 XT Nitro 12 GB GPU. so the game improved dramatically graphics wise. Anyway, I digress...
While I was mining recently using the Sub Surface Missiles. I was trying to line up the launcher on a sub surface deposit (the asteroid was also revolving fairly rapidly) the stuttering started and resulted in the nigh on impossible task of me trying to line up the launcher to hit the target.

The stuttering stopped after a few seconds, and didn't re- appear again in that mining session, but nevertheless that problem obviously exists. I've never experienced that before the recent colonisation updates so ...

.
At least those other bugs reported with the general core mining feature seem to be rectified, as I'm laser mining, deep core mining and the using the other mining features extensively I've not experienced any problem with the chunks of materials not detaching from the exploded asteroid, using the abrasion blaster. The chunks of materials released from the initial explosion seem to be floating around there as usual so...

so it seems it's all working now 'as intended' in that respect.

I've been lasering and using the displacement tool
before exploding the asteroid with the Seismic launcher too just to check those reported bugs out, It's seems 'as normal' for me anyway!
Okay, time for

and toast, load up some more limpets on the Corvette and head out to those platinum spots!
Jack
