(Sounds like the invisible helmet bug has gone full Russian doll...)

Hmm, datamining suggests the new 'blades' will include ship performance boosts...

Post (Datamine) | Flight Blades

A quick explainer on flight blades as they've been added to the recent localization files.

Standard: Default Handling

This is the standard issue flight blade for the Aegis Avenger Titan.

PHB Blades: Rotation Speed Increase

Unlock the potential of your Aegis Gladius with the PHB Flight Blade from Broad & Rabiee. By re-allocating forward thrust resources, you can expect your ship deliver increased precision handling during tight maneuvers.

TSB Blades: Straightaway Speed Increase

Unlock the potential of your Aegis Hammerhead with the TSB Flight Blade from Broad & Rabiee. By re-allocating lateral thrust resources, you can expect your ship deliver increased top speeds in the straightaway.

Limited Launch Ships (Seemingly)

  • Anvil Pisces Series
  • Anvil Arrow
  • Argo MPUV Series
  • RSI Scorpius Series
  • Aegis Avenger Series
  • Aegis Gladius
  • Aegis Hammerhead

Anyone taking bets on a dollar sign resting next to these? ;)

It's fine, it's just 'pay to play better'

So for my sins, I had a spin through the latest ship sale video brochure.

The entirety of the featured mission team, with the exception of the CIG-lifer lead, joined in 2023. Like, all of them.

I swear, CIG just mows through devs...

(One of them is already 'open to work' on Linkedin incidentally. Can't wait to meet the 2026 team ;))

AKA - There's (still) no design and therefore nothing to produce.

13 years in. Over half a billion spent.

Too many deadlines missed to list.

So you should definitely trust us!

Buy an Idris.
This. This right here would have made me want to leave even if I was a believer. 13 years in and they're still deciding on foundational tech like economic databases and essential flight maneuvers? Still working on the basic UI some 13 years in? There's so much missing foundational tech that needs to already function for the game to even be built upon that this kind of statement from them would make me say "this is bull," and pull out.

I'm always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially new people who think they've just got in on the ground floor of something awesome, but even a cursory glance at the history of CIG at this point should show a company that does not even understand the basic fundamentals of game design, and that even a layman should understand that after 13 years and nearly a billion dollars is far, far too much and too long to hear words about getting around to building the economic database that should have existed when they were first starting out.

"Now that we've added furniture, paint, and a chandelier to the attic, we will now begin on the foundation of the home. We are very good builders."

# Post (Video) | John Crewe Q&A - Bar Citizen Beijing
Community questions from the Chinese audience

## GROUND VEHICLES & GAMEPLAY
  • More types coming: combat hovercrafts, mobile base-style vehicles
  • Challenges exist due to garage and hangar limitations, but new vehicle types are being explored
  • Ground gameplay systems need to improve to make ground vehicles more useful and relevant

## SHIP INTERIORS & LIVING SYSTEMS
  • Living quarters vary by ship role: basic beds for short trips, full amenities for long-term missions
  • Hygiene (toilets/showers) will matter with future survival mechanics
  • Cockpit eating/drinking in single-seat ships is planned but not confirmed

## WEAPONS & AMMO
  • New weapon types (e.g. bolt weapons) entering PU from Squadron 42
  • No entirely new archetypes yet, but beam weapons are still a long-term goal (esp. for big ships)
  • Ballistic weapons will get reloadable magazines, with support for manual and internal ship-based reloading.

## SHIP SYSTEMS & UI
  • Remote door/ramp control via MobiGlass is planned (not soon)
  • Missile hardpoints will start supporting alternative payloads soon

## MARINE SEATS & DROPSHIPS
  • Marine/drop seats already help with G-forces, but features will expand
  • Dropships underused due to lack of durability and incentives

## SHIP DESIGN & ITERATIONS
  • Ships like the Galaxy will reflect Zeus-inspired aesthetics but differ from military designs like the Polaris
  • Older ships like Caterpillar/Reclaimer may be reimagined, but not fully rebuilt unless necessary
  • Mark II versions possible for some ships (like Hornet)

## SHIP MODULES & IN-GAME AVAILABILITY
  • Ship modules (e.g. for Galaxy) will be earnable in-game after a grace period
  • Legal and marketing constraints affect when and how pledge items go live

## MAELSTROM DAMAGE SYSTEM
  • The Maelstrom system (dynamic damage and breakage) from Squadron 42 is 70% complete and will come to the PU
  • Focus is on key ships first, allowing more physical realism in combat damage

## SHIP WEIGHT & PERFORMANCE
  • Squadron uses material-based physics weight (Maelstrom)
  • In Star Citizen, it’s still done via a designer spreadsheet method, but will eventually shift to physics-driven weight
  • Cargo affects ship handling (especially external cargo like Hull/RAFT)
  • Future features like "Jerk" and control surface physics will further impact flight mechanics

## CAPITAL SHIP BALANCING
  • Polaris & other capital ships rebalanced to be slower and heavier
  • Players should expect them to behave like massive, lumbering vessels, not agile fighters
  • NPC capitals (Idris, Javelin) will also follow this updated behavior

## LIVE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
  • 2025 focus = performance, stability, Squadron 42 polish
  • Monthly patch cadence enables fast iteration on balance & systems

## UNEXPECTED SHIP REVEAL
+ RSI Meteor teased – “punches above its weight”

From Beijing Bar Citizen live stream:
1. When asked if we could expect more vehicle weapons, CIG replied that this year is the year of the beam weapon / class.

2, The Galaxy will follow after the Perseus.
Perseus share the assets with Polaris (Military style)
Galaxy share the assets with Zeus (Civilian / Industrial style)

3. The concept of Kraken maybe reconsidered and in pre-production phase at the end of this 2025.

4. When asked to name a ship that we probably don't know but will come out this year.
CIG answered: RSI Meteor

Some stuff that jumped out...

SQ42 70% Feature Complete...

+ The Maelstrom system (dynamic damage and breakage) from Squadron 42 is 70% complete and will come to the PU
[EDIT: It turns out this means they've converted 70% of the SQ42 ships to date]

Old ships, old money...

  • Older ships like Caterpillar/Reclaimer may be reimagined, but not fully rebuilt unless necessary
  • Mark II versions possible for some ships (like Hornet)
3. The concept of Kraken maybe reconsidered and in pre-production phase at the end of this 2025.

Why even done once?

  • Hygiene (toilets/showers) will matter with future survival mechanics
  • Cockpit eating/drinking in single-seat ships is planned but not confirmed
