they wont its not a good business model the packs being so diverse means there is at least one reason for you to buy the pack while taxonomic pack would appeal to a much smaller number of players
I'm not sure we'd want to see the female version of Hugh Jackman.
We need another zoo game that will beat the crap out of Planet Zoo and bring competition. Without another zoo game, it allows Planet Zoo to do any snobby job it believes it can do.
Look at Marvel and DC. A lot of Marvel movies are sloppy. Competition won't necessarily help.
Plus, I'd say that 75% of the time the devs follow feedback. We can't expect perfection, after all
Saying Marvel and DC are competitors in the 21st century is like saying Mario and Sonic are competitors in the 21st century. Very true in the past, but clearly one side won out in the modern day and the other's just doing its own thing now.
Honestly, agreed. A lot of PZ’s “competition” leans way more towards management from what I can tell, so it’d be nice to see another dev throw their hat into the ring with something more building-heavy.
Also, probably a very hot take, but if said hypothetical PZ competitor were to give their animals/overall game a more stylized look so they could really mass-produce those suckers and load their game with as many cool species as possible, that would be cool with me… in fact, that would be a plus for me (and probably nobody else lol).

I feel like a cartoony themed game would really hit the parks with Cartoony but Realistic looking animals.

Just as add-ons in between the regular DLCs I think it would work. It wouldn't efford a lot of man-power to bring out these little packs and could make the company some extra money.
And it really works. I´m not too excited yet for the new DLC, but if they put a bird in it I´ll have to get it anyways...
Think of it this way: I’m into cats, you’re into deer, and let’s say Topaz is into birds. If the DLCs were organised by animal type (one for cats, one for deer, one for birds) each of us would most likely only buy the one we care about, so they'd make €18 total. But if they mix the animals (one cat, one deer, and one bird in each DLC) then the three of us would have to buy all three DLCs, and they’d make €54 from the same players and the exact same animals. Like last dlc i bought it for the ocelote coyote and bush dog if you had put 2 more monkeys and another bird in that dlc i would skip it
