New ship: Panther Clipper

It is not a good looking ship lol, but I am so looking forward to it.

I am hoping I can get in and do 1-2 cargo missions or free trade runs and cover the cost of my fleet carrier for the week. Although I am years ahead of the curve on that.

Never mind, lol, I am already doing that in my Cutter.

Maybe ATC won't tell me to make way for large vessels when transiting the air lock? 🤷‍♂️
That would really be a cool thing. They should instead be panicking and shouting "Clear the mailsot ! Clear the mailslot ! 3500t behemoth coming through !". And no, that's not cargo capacity but total mass. Hull around 1300-1500t, cargo 1200t, rest is modules. Not too unrealistic, my Cutter comes in at 2566t fully laden.

There, there!
This is what some engineer should develop, Tardis improvement for cargo racks! From 5% to 50% increase.
I think who ever designed the Cobra MK V already trialed that tech!.
regarding the poll it is heartening (imo) to see that the numbers are not totally insane.

I don't think those hoping for 1200-1500 is utterly unrealistic and plenty more would be happy with anything 1000t+

Some on this forum were demanding 3000+ or it's a fail iirc and am glad they appear to be a minority.

Demanding 3000+ is due to the lore from when the Ships were originally founded back in the 80's game lore. the clipper was supposed to be able to bring in everything a colony needed in one shipment so 3000+ would not be far off the mark.

Yep, I'm one of those (well not demanding) because 728t in a Clipper (I never go shieldless) means literally hundreds of loads to shift if I wish to delve deeper into colonisation experimentation, so something that could shift at least 7 times that amount makes sense in my ancient old noggin. But, as always, the conservative incremental improvement is likely to be FD's choice. (at least full details weill be released tomorrow, and I hope they have been super conservative, to keep the majority happy with an extra 50t or so carrying capacity)

I may be in a minority - which may also be because I wan't my gaming to be entertainment.
