Oh no. That’s the biggest bummer I’ve heard my whole time with the community
I'm a discord user and I think it's a very useful and practical tool, but it should be a complement for good forums, not a replacement.
This is the worst news of the year. Forums and chats serve different needs. One is long-lasting, acting more like an organized library, while the other is short-lived and makes it hard to find past conversations. Both have their place – but alongside each other, not one replacing the other.
thats extremely disheartening. I agree that one of the best things about PZ has been this community. It's by far been the most civil forum I've been a part of.
If this is really a thing for PZ2, I'm definitely out. It's not my thing at all.
Maybe we can still stay here. I don't expect the forum to be completely deleted, hopefully?
Then there will just be a "what did you do in PZ2 today" or something. If the mods don't start deleting stuff like this, nobody will care if this isn't a place for PZ2. What do you think?

Yeah i agree on whats said. I like discord and im using it alot since 2017, and i think a official PZ one could be cool. But only really as an addition to a standard forum, like for general chats about the game, animals or whatever and sharing builds it would be great. But for everything regarding feedback or people seeking help it will probably be not as good, because stuff like this, especially on a server with alot of users will probably be burried really fast.
And, and this is just a personal opinion, if your main contact point to the community is a discord server it just feels kinda unprofessional/unofficial to me.
So in essence i think discord servers are great, but imo they work better as a community run thing rather then being the official place to go

I agree I don’t think discord is as official, and one of my main gripes with it is it is less accessible than a forum.
Using my own thread “Education in Zoos and yada yada” I have been building it as a resource for everyone and their builds. Now it’s all gonna be deleted. If I move it to discord it is completely lost to anyone unless they specifically make a discord, and even then I don’t know if I would be allowed to make my own channel.
I also can’t help but feel this is a way to control conversations.
Nah nothing is gonna be deleted, everything stays. Its just gonna be closed, you will still be able to read it but just dont be able to open new threads and comment
That’s a relief, but that also means we can’t build off them anymore, which is still sad.
This new Challenge mode for Planet Coaster 2 would be soooo good for Planet Zoo 2, the challenge mode for planet zoo 1 ist kinda boring
It’s pretty much the same thing. I hope a new challenge mode for pz2 would work more like ZT2s challenge mode
I think Planet Zoo 2 should have :
Marine animals (fully aquatic big ones... orca.. dolphin etc..)
Marine exhibit animals (fish, eel, seahorse..)
Aviaries (flying birds)
I really like the idea of Marine exhibits, it adds a new layer to the game, having to be able to do small aquariums and stuff.
