New America! - I am definitely going to visit, ASAP. Thanks, it's really delicious. I don't know whether or not you've realized but it's almost as old as my the oldest.

This is just armchair exploring you understand - there's a few more lonely colonies out there, need to go visit them, maybe they are mirages, lol.
Seriously beginning to wonder if this might actually be the farthest.....

I see nothing essentially wrong with armchair exploration as I'm doing it a lot - I love maps and the Galaxy Map in ED, despite all its shortcomings, is simply amazing.
I too hope it's not the farthest: I need a chance for revenge ;)

@Ender, do hope you get your save back soon :-(
Thanks, me too, but still no luck, and I feel I will get withdrawal effects soon ;)

Heaviest Supermassive Black Hole - Sagittarius A* at 15.5477 solar masses - CMDR Zulu Romeo
Sorry, but it's wrong. As I posted before there is a bug in description and it states it's 1 solar masses (probably it should be 1 mln solar masses). Your entry should be:

Largest Supermassive Black Hole - Sagittarius A* at 15.5477 solar radius - CMDR Zulu Romeo

I scanned all the planets around the first star, this system stood out to me as COL 285 Sector RY-H C10-24 A has 17 non-gas planets. could be a record?:)
Yeah, It definitely could be, but shouldn't we count moons as well? They are really large, sometimes - eg. look at Achenar.

It has two helium gas giants, I've never seen any others out there has anyone else?
The 3 planets are ice planets that also have helium atmosphere types.
Strange, it seems to me I've seen them a lot - perhaps it's my memory degradation as part of withdrawal effects :)

@Ender hope you get back on soon, and why don't you reset there's going to be a wipe in 10 days or so anyway?

I know they are busy but I've decided to give them a chance - it's better such issues to not happen after release, so I'm waiting. Imagine this nightmare: something like that happens 6 month into the game and wipe is only option. I just feel now as I'm testing FD's ability to deal with gamebreaking issues instead of playtesting Gamma :)

I'm so confused with your . and , marking the numbers

for example...

Heaviest Supermassive Black Hole - Sagittarius A* at 15.5477 solar masses - CMDR Zulu Romeo

i doubt it only has 15 times the mass of our sun.
and if it was 155477 the mass of our sun shouldn't it be 155,477?

:(

Are there other supermassives discovered yet? If not this may stand even bugged!

Mintaka may be in the running for a regularly massive black hole...

Not something I can claim myself though - it's one of the pretties from this thread....

Definitely heading to Quince tonight :)

Some more updates for categories .. back in Tellus now slowly selling stuff off but that suits me as I have to finish a thesis in RL and need a break from ED ;)

Coldest star: PRAEA EUQ FV-M A89-0 at 282K
Lightest star: PRAEA EUQ FV-M A89-0 at 0.0078 Solar Mass (not sure if this qualifies for the non-brown dwarf also)
Hottest non-neutron star: SHAPLEY 1 A at 154997K

For pics check out: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=66655

Might also want to update the text at the top of the first post as it seems a bit dated talking about beta3.

Yay! After much wandering I think I've broken a record :)

Lawd 49 A has a solar radius of 0.0042, which I claim to be lower than the existing Smallest Star record of 0.0046 :) Sorry CMDR Endereth Ernal :)

It pays to read posts that are before yours - perhaps you wouldn't be so confused, then.

Very unlikely to be more of them in the Galaxy but it shouldn't even suggest the one has 1 solar mass because it confuses people.

Congratulations! It wasn't easy to find mine.

thanks for spotting Sagittarius A* mistake I've changed it now
I'll keep my eye out for more helium gas giants, they seem to be a version of class 1 gas giants but with more helium?
makes sense to test FD, it would be really bad if this happened a few months after release
I haven't been able to sell any system data for the last 2 days hope they also fix this soon
I will add all new records later tonight

Patau, can you explain what you mean by single rings and multi rings? Want to be clear as I carry on my explorations... :)

I was thinking that there should be separate catagories for rings which a have a single part(just an a-ring. so a single ring) and rings which are made up of several parts (a-ring, b-ring, c-ring, etc. so a multi ring).

Visit Exquisite Quince, best pizza this side of Leesti.

Would T Tauri stars be considered as "ringed bodies"? And as "smallest star (non-(brown ) dwarf)"? If so, I think I have a couple records to claim.

I'm back! And my breath has already been taken away: Oldest system (all stars as is usual the case so perhaps we should change the name of the record) - ICZ CQ-Y C12 at 17,785 mln years !!! How old is the Universe here?

We have not counted stellar bodies in ringed bodies category but it could change. However, Brown Dwarves aren't smallest stars, I think, but White Dwarves.

Largest System ? radius or diameter ?
http://hpics.li/bbfa07c
0.26 LY radius
2h30 at 1000c speed :S

Why so slow - you could be 2x faster.

than one is an Invisible black hole
http://hpics.li/4d6eceb

It's not invisible - it's just small :)

Why so slow ? cose i was at this speed when i was writhing 10 minutes later i was around 1500c

And for the black hole it was 2x biger than the other witch i was able to see .

not usless post : still in the them of black hole , here is the youngest :

A bit strange to see a black hole in a 1M year old sytem but why not ... Yea ! this star is born black (hole)(and dead by the way)! Dont juge him ,it's raciste !
Shorter star's lifespan RECORD (lower than 1M year)! WOOT ! what ?! No its sad :'(

Awesome find rodney; I might go check it out before the end of gamma and post the details so you can enter more details for the records (those planets look like they're similar to the crazy system I found around an O star) but at 1800 away it will take a bit ... Btw did you leave from the start for the rim? why not invest in a detailed scanner?

Thank you sir! It's very close to VY Canis Majoris - Also worth Checking out Wezen (Delta Canis Majoris) which isn't too far away either.

Even though the second star is enormous, it is only 30 solar masses. I guess that's gravity for you!

Yeah I left as soon as I found a decent fuel scoop - didn't have the credits to get a DSS and I just couldn't wait. :D

I did find also a system with 17 stellar bodies - so tie for the current record. Completely mad system. lots of binary orbits.

I think it's time to head to Sol now. I've visited around 400 systems and I'm currently at VY canis majoris. So I've a fair trek ahead of me. Looking forward to seeing what else I stumble upon. :)

I think I've found an even smaller star, a white dwarf which is almost HALF THE SIZE of the current record. When I arrived in system I thought what the hell! Oh and this system is big, almost ran out of fuel flying to the nearest station :)

EDIT to actually add the size! 0.0026
