This is third time this happened to me in the last hour. I can't make trade run back and forth between docking without getting matchmaker server no response.
I've never said a bad word about this whole always-online "design" but I'm starting to change my mind if that's the kind of problem we will encounter.
And don't get me started on 16th of Dec where everyone will hit game servers...
To be honest I'm expecting a lot of up and down time between now and Tuesday as they throw more and more emergency bug fixes and balancing going on before Tuesday launch ...

In all fairness, I feel they are currently doing stuff to the servers in the background, as they often do, hence the connection problems today. Having the servers buckle when the floodgates open on the 16th is another kettle of fish entirely and deducing from ongoing background fixes that the servers are generally unstable probably does not apply.

From what I have read, the ED servers are hosted by Amazon and scale quite nicely, so if the serves get bombarded on the 16th, they should get more capacities basically instantly

i will never understand why there is no some official note??

Meh, I am fine with no notes for now, Id rather have them focus their attentions on the actual work.
Imo, Come the 16th though, notes should be posted about the server status

Aaaand they are back once more

That might be the case but I worry that there appears to be no "live service" view of operations this close to release. Off the top of my head in terms of PROD best practise...
1) No comms to affected users within a short period of time (or full stop at the moment)
2) No resilience
3) Unrestricted change access
4) Potentially having DEV access to PROD

It might be the case we're in TEST and there's a PROD universe waiting for us on the 16th but there's been precious little comms to that effect and, bluntly, if that's the way they communicate with their "devoted" user base what's going to happen when Jimmy Nmmbnuts logs on on Christmas Morning to play his shiny new game and gets random server crashes?

Dont think any of these problems are fixes though. It is up for about 10 mins then off again, then up for a few mins then off again.

I have had it 5x times in the last 90 minutes and I live 3 corners from the Frontier office. I should go and bang their doors....

Hi. Same here, often when engaging or disengaging FSD in open world mode. And when i want to "save and exit" game, it goes black screen with just the version number in down left corner. And i have no choice than ctrl + alt + del to kill the client.

So when do we actually get some kind of info that servers are offline except logging in and seeing a greyed out "start" sign?

Is it really so hard to implement a system that tells us in a one-liner: "Servers down due to unexpected maintenenance. ETA 15:00 GMT?"
