I appear to still be seeing the "limit to two input devices" problem. I can bind controls for my Saitek X-55's Stick, but nothing on the Throttle registers. I've tried copying SaitekX55.binds over Custom.binds, which just results in "Custom" disappearing from the drop-down of control setting options until I select Empty and start binding new controls. Yes, I've confirmed both devices are present and responsive in USB Game Controllers, and both work fine in DCS and other titles.

If there's any logs or info I can attach that would help, please say so.

I went back to some starter systems and met a whole bunch of human pilots! Me and a friend established ourselves in LHS 2637 for a while (high tec with extraction zones) and again I met a lot of cmdrs.

Few issues need to be taken care of in the next patch.
The economy needs to have an effect in influence. Aka if i haul 15000 weapons to a station (which i did), that we want to enter civil war and take control of the system. So far no effect.
Been hauling in weapons like mad and nothing. So it doesn't work as intended. Hoping for a fix to that.

And the profits from piracy, bounty hunting etc need to be balanced out to match trading. Selling stolen stuff in the black market with half price isn't worth the risk of piracy. Trading is by far the best way to get your profits through the roof. Mining is worthless as is. Took me 4 hours to get a 100 platinum, which are worth around 1,9 million credits (if you even find a source of platinum that doesn't have 1944 pirate players running around). In the same amount of time, could almost double that profit by rare trading. So is there going to be a fix to make mining worth the time? Trading could also be 10 times as risky as it is now. So you wouldn't be able to make 200k in less than 10 minutes... That's stupid really. No risk. Good profits.

Wings are the only thing i've heard about the new patch so far, that's great.

Explain how do the wings work?

And here are a few suggestions:
1: IF the trading is made riskier somehow, have an insurance for your cargo. Nothing too expensive, but atleast have the possibility of having one.

2: Make it possible to actually join a specific faction and fly under their colors, it's doable as you did it in the conflict areas.

3: Make the salvaged goods SALVAGED and not stolen. It's ok to have illegal salvaged cargo and be punished for it, but when you clean up the airspace of biochems or whatever and getting And have a possibility of helping your fellow commanders somehow, who have either been shot through the canopy or had their thrusters broken down. Atleast for the thruster issue. Most trolls just fire at your thrusters, then leave you there to self destruct, just to be an ass about it.

Maybe you've been a bad boy and they are already implementing the hellbans :)[/QUOTE

I don't have factual information but from what I have been able to determine from my own observation over the past month is that ED must match those players with a close ping rate together. Everyone that I have seen in the SOL system have been local to where I live.

So if you haven't seen anyone while your cruising around Han Yolo then maybe your in a location where there are no other players nearby your real life location.

It's just a thought!

And this is why it absolutely needs to go. it's ridiculously easy to disable even an Anaconda by taking out it's engines, and the result is a perfect mechanism for griefers. The frustration is even worse than that of getting killed.

Realism be damned, when the gameplay result is like this. A ship should never be rendered completely helpless. Components should be degraded in effectivenss, not destroyed like this. Similarily the ease of reactor kills is stupid. An Anaconda's or a Pythons reactor should be deep in the hull, protected by the heaviest armour on the ship. Being able to damage the reactor directly by hitting the hull with lasers is just wrong. It should require deep penetration with at least medium caliber cannons (not auto) or rail guns to even reach the reactor. Once we have more dynamic damage states, hitting the reactor shielding should only be possible once the outer hull has been peeled away at the location.

I think if field maintenance units repaired thrusters, as well as he other subsystems they currently don't, then it wouldn't be so bad. In fact it would make fitting those units worthwhile and add an element of risk vs reward into the mix. Players would have to weigh up whether fitting an extra cargo bay or shield cell unit is worth the risk of being stranded if they get their engines sot up. NPCs should have access to them too, I'm not sure they even know they exist.

It's not enough. The crippling mechanics lead to bad gameplay and enable abusive behavior.

As for suggsting weapons and mechanics balance needs work... I guess this is the first post from me you have ever seen NeilF ^.^

Sorry not sure what you mean :)

If it makes any different I think they do need a good kick :)

Kind of referring to my 2 year history of weapon balancing commentary, complaints and suggestions, and the various and numerous threads on gameplay mechanics, auggestions on how to fix income scaling, etc etc...

Consider me a late arrival to the issue then ;)

An Workaround you could try is using UJR to remap those devices into one device.

This +1

I have only just started playing and I can already see a gaping hole in the trade system.

Having only just started playing I am (or was) intent on making money through Mining however after spending a day or so Mining I can see that there is a huge difference in income between minerals and metals with no middle ground eg. no mechanic to refine minerals into metals its either minerals or metals with metals ahead by a mile in terms of profitability forcing anyone considering making money through mining to travel and mine Metallic only belts.

Then there is the rare trade goods circle which imo is a way for players to cheese the game by making absurdly amounts of money with little risk far exceeding any other method of making money.
I now watch my friend who stared a week or so before me flying around in a kitted Asp with another 4 or so mill in assets all through rare trade goods...

make trade, combat, missions and other activity and its influence on the influence system, make it actually work so the geopooitical, economic and military aspects of gameplay the wider world can actually work. The devs seem to be taking another week off so nothing yet
