Elite: Dangerous Slang Dictionary and creator.

RE: "ganked" it's not Elite-specific so there's a definition at urbandictionary. I'm not going to link to it because it's NSFW and just in case it annoys people on the forums! Easy to find and might provide a more detailed definition if desired.

Loop of Shame: Flying too fast past your destination and having to loop back on course.

Great post. Here are some of the ones I can think of.

Ganked - technically, I am pretty sure this is just slang for ambushed, and doesn't necessitate being destroyed, or work any time you are destroyed, even if it was by overwhelming force. Generally a surprise attack with high alpha, which brings up...
Alpha - not exclusive to ED, but not enough people know what is meant when this is talked about. I believe it is short for "alpha strike" and refers to a large burst of damage able to be dealt before the defending party realizes he is in combat.
'Conda - An abbreviation for the Anaconda similar to Sidey for Sidewinders.

Ganked is already in. The others are fine.

Compiled to here.

Also added:

Tying the knot: The act of doing a loop to decrease speed when close to a Frameshift target. Many a Loop of Shame has started out as a tying the knot manouevre.

Double Blue: Everything is fine. Comes from the blue indicators for distance and speed in Frameshift Space. "I've got a new ship, a million in the bank and I know a good trade route, so everything's Double Blue in my world, man."

Dock-blocked, to be

To be denied docking access at an outpost by a pilot who has left his ship unattended on a pad or in a hangar.

Glam Rock: Glamorous rock, a ring or belt object containing valuable metals such as platinum or palladium.
Prog Rock: Progressive rock, a ring or belt object containing refinable minerals such as bertrandite or gallite.
Rock Star: A successful ring or belt miner.

Any chance of a moderator moving this thread to the 'tutorials' section before it gets lost? would be a shame for the work (and humour) to be wasted.

Isn't 'Annie' another affectionate name for the Conda? Sure I've seen it...

Or Ana

"Sir Robin" is often quoted complete as "Brave Sir Robin", perhaps to make manoeuvre more erm... tactical.

"Dockered" When your docking requests gets lost or your pad is re-assigned, was a frequent occurrence when the dockers were being trained. In fact the experience was so traumatic for one commander he had to write a musical called Dockers as therapy.

If some of these can be referenced to popular fiction it would be nice.

I know there was at least one other thread like this way back before alpha... if anyone would like to dig that out :D

Anopheles, thanks for the mention in the original post. I don't suppose you could link to the channel page itself could you? Currently it doesn't link anywhere! :)

Agree with the post above,

also thinking that Rincwinding or to Rincewind has a level of honour in it.

"I lassoed a T6 last night, and after the sleigh ride he rincewinded out of the system"

in in contrast to 'Sir Robin' is a sleight.

Got taken on a sleigh ride by a pirate/ hunter, and when I ran out the cashbombs he allegroed followed by a swift Sir Robin.

How about Dicthead?

"I was minding my own business, heading to a station to rearm, when some dicthead came out of nowhere and made me drop into normal flight for some fisty cuffs"
