New Version of Cmdr's Log Available!

Arch,

Thanks for the continued updates. Now that OCR import is built in it's the only 3rd party trading tool I use. BTW, since you are thinking of version 3.0 Cmdr's Log :p I hope you will consider expanding the scope of the app a bit to help us folks who also enjoy gathering complete info for exploring, bounty hunting and even mining. The main change would be to split the System/Station-centric focus into separate System and Station modes. Systems would be color-coded based on Allegiance and Stations still by Economy. I made a couple mock-ups to give you a better idea of what I was thinking. I apologize for the amateur-level editing

System Data

Station Data

I hope I'm not over stepping my bounds....

This would be a great continuation for 3.0 if feasible!

Hello All Fellow Commanders !

Just one little comments about the commodities list based on Elite OCR ...

Land Enrich Sys -----> Land Enrichment Systems

Maybe it's just me, but the import is not updating existing stations. The quantity of good stays at the old number and a couple of errors I initially made in setting medium demand instead of medium supply are unchanged.

I have not tried it with new stations yet, just the update existing.

However no crashes, program seems stable.

Like the "move to imported folder"!:)

Oh you guys...

Remember I'm in the US... so it's 8:30am here on a SUNDAY ;) You're lucky I'm even posting this early heh.

Sadly no I didn't play last night. I played Terraria on the iPad though...

Had a similar moment, then realised the Existing station name must be exactly the same as the OCR file name, case too, fe. I had MacMillan Terminal entered manually, the OCR spelt it Macmillan Terminal and created a new station instead of updating the existing, also commodity name must be spelt the same as OCR Elite spells them and it is case sensitive too.

Oh and well done Arch, OCR is slightly quicker and for me a bit more reliable as I double check all.

So... I just did my very first game EliteORC usage and import into Cmdr's Log.

Wow. That worked like a charm. It's not finding system names for me, that's alittle annoying, and when you go to the "next file" it wipes out the one you previously typed in manually. Other than that it was way faster than entering manually. I really hope we can get an even more automated system in the future. One where you don't have to use the EliteOCR front end and just use Cmdr's Log and correct errors within it.

Anyway, think I'm gonna fly around and log a few more stations :)

I sent you a PM with suggestions by the way

Ahh I see, yes. So far the Cmdr's Log side of this is going pretty good. Having used it a couple times, I think some more descriptive errors of what went wrong will be helpful. I just imported one and it was like "Station blahblah has 1 broken item!" and I'm like "Huh? What broken item is that? Alittle more help would be appreciated!! GEEZ." "Oh wait... I should implement that."

I am using this with RegulatedNoise OCR. I have found this 100% reliable. It exports a single CSV containing multiple stations but other than that seems to be working fine with your new import tool. RandomNoise contains the time stamp for when the scanned data was stored. Would be nice if that timestamp was used as the date when the commodity was updated rather than just setting it all to new.

Here is a sample of the CSV from RandomNoise.

I know it says EliteOCR in th filename but this is what has come from RandomNoise.

That's interesting, the format is identical up until the end of the line, which has extra stuff (like what screenshot it came from). Luckly Cmdr's Log import ignores everything beyond the timestamp, so really, you kinda got lucky that it works :) But good to know it does!
