What type of controller will you be using for Elite Dangerous

I have made three videos related to my new games controller.....

Actually, it's really only two videos related to my games controller.

As one of the video is just some games footage from X3 Reunion, but I have my new joystick sitting there in the foreground on my desk with my laptop.

Take not and guess where the background music is from.....

Unboxing My New Saitek Cyborg Fly 5 PC Flightstick

This was the first time I put my self in a video so please be kind in you commentary and the background noise at the end is my father turning on the television to watch the rest of a one of the famous Tom Baker - Dr Who episodes.....

Unsuccessful Download of Drivers and Software for New Joystick

X3 - Reunion on Auto-Pilot While I Go and Make Lunch

The reason for the blank screen during that last video is because my computer couldn't really handle the games requirements while I had used auto-pilot to go through one of the jump-gates.

You'd know what I talking about if you have ever played the game yourself.

Got my Thrustmaster T.16000M the other day - nice weighting, although I haven't used it much - just a few minutes of FSX.

I will use this joystick too. It's worth noting that T.16000M has very interesting software for programming of buttons and axises.

I still have to get it but i will probably get the x52 Pro.

But still looking if i can find anything better in that price range. Any suggestions maybe? :)

Nope that is about it
Up, go for the Thrustmaster Warthog
Down, the next in line will be the Saitek X52. I'm not sure what else is below that, as I already have a X52

Saitek are about to release a new joystick, the X55: ...probably in response to Star Citizen. Have no other info about it.

Personally, have picked up an X52 pro and although it's a tiny bit lighter than expected, am pretty pleased with it, even though I've not used it in anger yet I've installed the software and fiddled with lights and stuff and it seems a good 'un.

There's always the Thrustmaster Hotas, where the two halves separate if required.

Otherwise it looks like it's stepping up into CH/expensive thrustmaster territory.

I picked up an x52 Pro recently and could not be happier with it. The quality of the product is very high and its also very easy to set up. Looking forward to using it in the Alpha.

It does take up a lot of real estate on the desk though. Its massive.

I'm using a 15 year old MS SideWinder 3DPro Plus which I got on ebay for about 15EUR shipped. I've built a gameport -> USB converter, so it works with any modern game.

I remember seeing an X52 video review where the reviewer held the stick horizontally to show that it's so light that it will actually move considerably from it's own weight. That's when I decided that it's not for me.

I'm also thinking of building myself some kind of ED themed gamepad, and I will probably get into that once I know what the in-game keyboard controls will look like.

Still think I prefer a KB/Mouse as a gamepad seems .. wrong - having said that I do like the look of that controller - it's very smexy!

(and welcome to the forums! :))

You know the spring on my new joystick and other like it.

I think it's just for show, as it doesn't look as though this spring even serves purpose as the stick moves independently of it.
