I'm dying to get information about what kind of flight physics the alpha version has, what sort of weapons have been built in, how well it runs, etc etc.
And no, I'm not wealthy enough to buy my way into the Alpha... but I do hope information will trickle down to use plebes when it starts.
We have got crumbles here and there. So this is what we know:
1) Alpha min specs (4 cores, min 2.0 Ghz, 2 GB free memory, GTX 285 with 2GB as min reference)
2) First test will have flying around and shooting immobile targets in asteroid field
3) AI and player versus player tests will follow
4) There will be other alpha tests - what exactly we don't know - but I will guess trading and docking are very believable candidates
5) If you followed Newsletters #12 and #13, alpha will have Sidewinder (unknown if other ships will be flyable, but they could be flown by NPCs), there will be rail guns, beam lasers, projectile weapons, possibly rockets and torpedoes.
6) For flying they will start with their current found equilibrium (Mike said they think it's good balance, alpha testers will have to say if they agree or disagree), it's Newtonian with FBW.
TLDR version - flying followed by combat followed by other core mechanics which has to be nailed down before moving forward.
We still don't know when exactly Alpha will start, but people speculate it could be second week of December. I believe that could be case too.
