Some will stream as they play, others will record and upload afterwards.
I was only asking myself this question the other day, it's sure to be quite a large download as you need the core of the game to play the test scenarios in it, correct me if I'm wrong.

I vaguely recall when I had to re download EVE client (a couple of years ago admittedly) it was over 4GB download but this was for finished game vs. alpha build etc.
It depends... The Alpha test itself probably doesnt need you to download that much. We dont need any of the procedural generation or planet/ship textures other than what is displayed in Alpha test.
So its mainly engine plus ships, physics, small environment, etc...
They could get us to grab much more already, but i reckon the larger downloads of the game will come more towards the end of the Alpha and into Beta.
But im of course totally speculating

I haven't seen a confirmation one way or another regarding this, but I do see a lot of people intending or otherwise seeming to expect the Alpha and the Betas to have a lot of public content from participants. Most Gaming companies prevent the release of such information with Non Disclosure Agreements, and I was wondering if there has actually been official word of the Alpha Contract including a Non Disclosure Clause for ED.
I haven't looked very carefully though, but I'm still interested to know.

FD have told us that we in Alpha and Beta can post game footage. I would hope people would be kind and only post positive footage though

There have been multiple clarifications of no NDA on alpha and beta information including videos and screenshots. It has been said that FD is small company, and they really have no means to control it, also it would be waste of community and their time (also it really never works).
Can you give me a link to one such where a member of FD says this?

I was thinking the game ALPHA would be today, but they could take their really. I think I have another week or two of waiting before my hardware is ready I hope, if things continue to run smooth enough for me.

Where is it!!! It's the first of December I want my Alpha...etc...etc....(sound of toys being flung out of a pram)
Quite happy to wait (but not too long after catching site of the Cobra mkIII) until Alpha is ready, as long as it arrives some time this month.
