From the posts I'm seeing here. It looks like you people have the wrong game. It's going to be a grindfest no matter what content they add. It's designed to be that way; and designed that way for a reason. If you get too much, too fast, it becomes boring, grind or no grind because there's not really any challenge once you get rich enough you can buy anything you want.
Every game (multi or single player), space or otherwise (that I've seen or heard about), that is economically driven, requires grinding. There was the original elite. That was a grind. Frontier and FFE were as well. Freelancer MP, oh heck yeah. Even Star Trek Online has it. The only way to get issued better ships is by purchasing them with Dilithium which has to be earned one way or another. From the short time I played Eve Online, there was grinding there as well.
From what i ve seen in the discussion so far, most people actaully complain about the lack of sutff to do. I dont mind grinding, hell compare it to other space games(EVE) and it s a walk in the park here in ED. The problem is after!! What next, i have my ships, i have explored as much as i want. Now i wanna settle somewhere, own a station, or part of a planet, make a corporation, or group or whatever, have small wars between us. Maybe if you own a station you get some profit out of the trading done there. I dont want massive wars like EVE has, but i want to feel like i matter. People played DayZEpoch not bcs of the grind for gear, but because at the end, you would have a base you can defend and where to safely park your vehicle and hang around with friends. And there was no need for 200vs200, just small 2v2's and things little corporations would do...
