Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

I love waking up to find that pilots from the other side of the world are taking their shift to hunt. I'm at work right now and I have a question for those with access to peregrina; have you been able to cargo scan any trading vessels? Pirating in Peregrina is my goal for this weekend.

I've been scanning everything (SSS trading convoys, pirates, single haulers in WSS). Nothing in the holds that's been out of the ordinary.

...Not that I could do much about it even if it were there. Turns out, when you buy the cargo limpet module, you need to reload the limpets (says the explorer/trader about pirate gear).

Well I'm planning to be back Sunday night, so I can fire up the Vulture instead for Monday if someone needs an escort. ;)

This thread intrigues me so much I had to post my findings, It may be nothing but there is a bread crumb path of terraforming worlds that I've found in the galaxy map that lead all the way to CEOS and SOTHIS systems. Sothis (the further of the two) is an Ancient Egyptian Goddess. Ceos and Sothis are situated below Polaris about 630LYs from Achernar. This would be the longest trek out for me as I've only ever been out 300LY. No permits needed.

these are systems recently colonised by the sirius corporation after a successful community goal

Right new bit of information

Just been talking to my friend, and before I start he doesn't come on the forums and I haven't told him about the Unknown Artifacts because he hasn't been on in a few days.

He said he dropped into a Strong Signal Source and saw 9 Vultures fighting and underneath them he said he saw something called and Unknown Artifact BUT, as he approached all the Vultures attacked him and he was destroyed (he was in a Viper).

I Bootis I think he he said he was in...

What the hell.

Ok couple of things I Bootis is a contact binary system... didn't someone mention that contact binaries are important in the whole unknown artifact issue? That system also is no stranger to interesting happenings. In Beta it was a Federal staging area in the Eranin war with supply lines and convoys staying hidden on the other side of the stars.

I just dropped into a really nice USS, It had 1 hauler 2 adders and a couple of small escort ships.
scanned the hauler proto type tech, rebel transmissions, etc ... nice
scanned the first adder rare commodities .... PAVONIS EAR GRUBS!!! I've been looking for these for ages!!!
got too excited to scan the 2nd adder, those ear grubs are mine! :D
Pavonis Ear Grubs is a rare commodity with an unknown source, the theory is they are illegal in the system that produces them so never appear on the commodities market
hopefully I should be able to triangulate the system they originate from by visiting a few stations near their likely source and check the price, got to find that distance - price equation...
btw these things are alien, there's actually a few other alien rare commodities out there ;)
but first I'm going to hunt for a few more SS for the cause before I head off, I feel lucky

So, in regards to the video linked from reddit at http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/34j6nf/to_whom_it_may_concern/.

This may be too easy, there was a closed captioning button available so I hit at and watched the video. At 1:09 it starts...

"Two of us have been captured by humans. One escaped, now floating amongst the wreckage of the ship it was being transported in. The other is now being transported in a cargo hold, under armed guard by the human's most powerful ships.

You cannot win the war you are looking for.

Let us be and you WILL be at peace."

I didn't see this posted anywhere else and I can't be the first person to see this can I?

I'm going to stick around there tomorrow a little, hopefully others get the chance to before hand though aha

So I've been reading through this and watched the video that was posted in post #931 to reddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/34j6nf/to_whom_it_may_concern/.

I hit the closed captioning button and didn't see anything until 1:09. Then I got this:

Seems to easy and I can't be the first person to find this... Can I?

Yeah I noticed it as well, along with someone else on Reddit. I didn't say anything because this guy obviously just added his own captions.

Correct me if I'm wrong everyone, but UAs came in with 1.2, right? The Wings release. And, we now see UAs featured in the Wings trailer involving combat between wings. On this information alone, I would be somewhat surprised if a wing of players wasn't *required* to recover a UA. It may be that scanning WSS is the wrong approach, and wings need to be dropping into SSSs like the one of 9 Vultures described above. That idea kind of assumes a solo player couldn't survive the aggro long enough to scoop the UA and escape...

Kind of bummed by the idea since I'm strictly a solo player for various (family related) reasons.

Not too drunk so here is singlelighttest, no I have no idea what It is or why it doesn't appear on the galaxy map. However adding to the mystery anyway.

I posted this in the thread on reddit... I wasn't sure if I should post it here or not as the uploader adds the closed captioning (I think). /u/microlightgondolas is a new user and has never psoted on reddit before. Just thought I'd share my findings.

Response from the poster: "The video of course isn't genuine, but the clue is. Be bold, wing up, look closely and be persistent. "

Basically to me it sounds like he's saying that it's either a WSS (floating amongst the wreckage) or in a SSS (cargo hold etc).

I'm not sure how he can have "clues" to give, but alas, take it for what it's worth. Doesn't sounds like it really changes anything.

Indeed, look in W/SSSes isn't exactly a new idea.

The Redit post just presents it is a "look at me" way

Yeah he basically has said what everyone in this thread has been thinking recently, although it was very creative so I'll give him that, lol.
