But as I was on my own, I decided not to attack.
Had one of those tonight in LHS 3006. T9 had 1t of Hafnium but I wasn't about to try to get it.
But as I was on my own, I decided not to attack.
Because I'm a damn pedant...

have to keep looking
Ha ! Ya I just saw one named "Messenger" in a WSS in Peregrina ... had a nice conversation with him.... guess he has been leading souls to salvation for over 20 years ...![]()
Secondly, it seems to me that there are ways you can encourage SSs to spawn.
All this looking as signal sources has got me thinking a bit about their nature.
Firtsy, I assume that signal sources are individual to players? If you dropout of SC, and then jump back in, any SSs that existed when you dropped have gone. This doesn't seem to fit with them being shared assets visible to other players in the same vicinity. I generally play alone and am in systems with no other players at the moment so haven't been able to check this but I'm sure those of you who play in wings can confirm.
Secondly, it seems to me that there are ways you can encourage SSs to spawn. This could be coincidental, but when you have a station or another SS targetted and you get close to, or just into, drop range it seems very common for SSs to spawn. I think this is why you can fly around for ages without seeing any signal sources and then when you do find one and get close to it, another suddenly appears. I don't know for sure this is a real effect, but from my experiments this morning it seems it could be. I do not know if this applies to other target items such as nav points or ships as I was only really paying attention to stations and other SSs.
This second point would only be possible if the first is also true.
Just a question for the Signal Source hunters.
Thinking about "Permit" and "Core of Civilization" yesterday during my unsuccessful 2000LY round-trip inside the 1000LY-Bubble.
What about the Founders World?
Anyone checked that one out yet in connection with those Signal Sources? Always was "Permit System #1" for me, the classic.
And also as stated by some users in this same thread, speed in supercruise has something to do with the signals: the most speed you have, less likely are signals to appear.

I prefer SS hunting with zero throttle in SC, I can't speak for the frequency but they appear close enough to just drop into where you are, only needing to line it up. I suspect the frequency/distance ratio probably evens out.
