When they have to reset to a previous state - I can tell you from working in software - the release completely ruined the database. There was no fixing.... there had to be an unrecoverable state for those that attempted the bugged progression missions. Same for those with the hyperspace crash/unable to load issue.
These are what we would call 'showstoppers' - the release should have been cancelled until this was fixed (if it was unseen prior to the release - then there is a hole in the QA process); this would be marked as a failed release in my industry.Don't worry Frontier - we had one of those ourselves last week. Must have been bad mojo out (we hadn't had a failed release in YEARS prior to last week)......
I came to the same conclusion - 1.3 ruined the player database and they couldn't go back, probably didn't or can't take a snapshot of the database pre-1.3, or probably decided plunging ahead with 1.3 was their only viable option, and be damned the paying customers.
Also, this business about sending explorers back to the last station they safely docked at, upon their CMDR data getting corrupted during a Hyperspace jump?
Why not patch your game to not have the data corruption happen in the first place, FDEV?
