I'd be surprised if the text chat and voip were not using the same P2P transport the moment to moment gameplay uses, albeit over a different channel to give the low latency stuff priority.
 
Well if one of the aims of the patch was to cure being dumped from the game when FSD system jumping it's sort of worked. I've only been dumped out twice in about 1,500 LY of constant jumping, rather than every 3-4 jump.
 
To Michael, system requiring permits that can be gained via doing missions for a faction (example Peregrina) still don't work after this patch.
 
Yes, i've reached 0% integrity, and i didn't explode.
But you can whine further.

So, I read about this ship integrity problem. But, in practical use, what does it do? What is it for if you reach 0% and don't explode and can continue flying? Am I missing something? Wow! This whole mess is confusing! Missions not giving the reward promised. Ranks attained too quickly. Ships losing their integrity and costing an arm and a leg to restore!

Python integrity decay is ever 4 jumps (maybe 5)

Cost for each 1% around 113957cr

here are the #
1%= 113957cr
10% = 1139570cr
100% = 11395700cr


But the Insurance claim when you get blown up is 4.7 million... fix this crap, your stats and decay system is broken, I had to go back after playing so hard to get into a Python and fly a rotten Cobra.

Why do you say the Cobra is rotter? It's a capable ship. I've been flying it since the beginning. That doesn't mean I won't replace it when I have the chance but I'm curious to know why you say it's rotten?

they may have tweaked performances so it alleviates the problem a little, but i'm guessing you having less deco would have more to do with how much people are online at the same time, and if people are as fed up as me of the incessant deco i guess you can say they achieved their goal by lowering deco just by the fact that less people play and thus less strain on the server...
 
Just spotted something - lose your shields and jump to SC and they become online (albeit very very feint first ring) - positive this has been happeneing up until this afternoons patch. Now since the patch you go to SC they remain offline and work to becoming online.

Something else not on the patch list.

Jumping to SC without Shields ... that should not be possible, at least if we want to keep it scientifically accurate, shielding is necessary for SC and Hyperspace, if not any micro meteorite could blow apart the ship !
 
Went exploring cause I thought a safe place to be during the multiple updates that will be 1.3.

This update did not fix the bug of being dumped in jumps. 3 times out of 15 for me. Did not see anything worthy of detail scan so don't know if the system map selection and loss of route bug is fixed or not. Guess I try again when next patch occurs.
 
Amazing to read the amount of crying over progress in a game, ED have created an amazing sim to a scale of which we could only dream about just a few years ago. If the odd reset is required to further develop the game so be it. But
it's hardly anything to spit the dummy over, not as if you just lost thousands of dollars in a stock market glitch.

Keep up the great work FD exciting to follow how this develops further into a truly immersive and incredible sim.

With all the comments I read so far, I'm not sure if you truly believe what you wrote or are just a bit sarcastic, sorry!


Many people are expressing their personal experiences with the update, and I'm expressing mine. As I'm not having issues worth mentioning with the game, I'm happy with it. Like it or don't ...1.3 is undeniably a large patch and 1.3. 0.1 reflects a good deal of work done in not a lot of time imo. I also think the range of issues being reported is not huge when the size and ambitions of the patch are considered. Many people are simply reporting the same issues over and over again. Rest easy, they'll get fixed soon enough. Whatever troubles 1.3 has are mole hills, not mountains

Literally, when you reach 0% hull integrity, your HULL becomes 30% "thinner".
Say, if Anaconda have for example 1000 hull "health points" with 100% hull integrity, then with 0% hull integrity it will have only 700 "health points" even with 100% HULL in your HUD (where is the ship's 3D model with shields).
It means that if with 100% hull integrity it can take 10 "shots", with 0% hull integrity it can take only 7 "shots" before HULL falls to 0%.

When will we get a patch that makes the game playable again?
E.g. no disconnects every few minutes + more time flying than waiting for the game to respond and route calculations to finish + remove loss of presets and route data during each crash?

Seriously, when I test the PTU over at SC, I get a more reliable experience, and that's basically a test build.
 
did a federation rank increase mission (delivering 5tn fruit and veg ... okay) and nothing changed.
not long after had the broken mission board again with the $## variables and 1cr missions showing so had to log out.
doesn't look very fixed to me.

It's a good thing they wiped faction influence and military ranks then! lol.

OK, that's a bit harsh. I'm glad that you didn't abandon the game to be "as is", but... TBH you are now rushing patches for problems that shouldn't have existed in the first place. Let's face it: most issues started after you pushed unfinished 1.3 out the door. Why? Please FD, do not go Bethesda* on us. Give yourselves more time for Betas, 1 week is not enough.
Yes, it's better than yesterday, but even today I had a few disconnections in hyperspace as well. ATM I do not enjoy the game, but I will wait for future updates (unlike some who claim to leave for goo because of... reasons).




*Bethesda's Beta Testing schedule:

Stage 1: Does the game launch?
- Yes => ready for release.
- No => try again until it launches, return to Stage 1.

It's only reset if your rank suddenly dropped to zero, or shot up for no reason.

I've seen people go from rank to rank quite quick. Will the patch revert based on progress? i.e telemetry based on their # of missions done or just naval ascension missions?

Edited after going through more posts.

So do you lose a ship you've purchased with the rank you had to have to get it?

Since the rank missions don't work, I stopped trying to rank. Since the res sites were nerfed, I pretty much stopped that as well. Since exploring is ex-boring.. well.

Oh well, Summertime is here, time to get offline.
