Any news on the fix for naval ranks lost with the rollout of 1.3?

From a ticket reply on the 9th:
"Hi Commander,
Thanks for getting in touch with us.
We will be implementing a patch server side that should restore your rank to the rank you have earned over the recent period of time.
There has been an issue relating to reputation gains recently and the loss you suffered was part of a recovery process. Essentially all players have been experiencing accelerated rank progression over a recent period of time.
However it has been decided that it’s unfair to remove the progress you have made, so we will be resetting the ranks gained shortly. This patch will be on our side, so you should not notice any interruption to service, you’ll just notice your rank has been increased to its previous level.
We’re very sorry for any inconvenience and we hope this explains what’s been happening to your ranks recently."

We're still looking into the military ranks progression issues.

Michael

Does anyone care that they are losing minor faction reputation to decay every day that a fix for this isn't implemented?

This should be pretty high on the priority list FD. I am fuming that after selling 250 million in exploration to the founders world I go from Allied to Friendly in just 2 weeks. Strongly advise a fix for this ASAP.

yesterday i repaired a python at 9% for 100,000 Cr
today my python at 90% and it cost 500,000 Cr

i didnt have the 4 Mil repair problem before .. now it increased ..

We really desperately need FD to publish an official formula for the W&T, so it can be checked if it's working correctly.
That said, I find it absolutely amazing how often this functionality breaks. Makes me very curious how this works on the inside.

Dear Michael. I am not a pirate but I understand their problem. Actually it is very hard for them to profit and it's a shame because pirates are fun and very important part of the game.

There's always been a cap to prevent griefing by dumping canisters to kill everyone's frame rate - it's been there since beta.

Michael

Sorry MB, but your 20 cannister limit is really bad !! Punish these guys, not pirates ! How can we expect gain some money, or exploit your wonderfull drones, if i can't ask 100Tons to a T9 ?????????????????? This limit is a shame !

Things where selling at beta prices so Anacondas for 3 mill , cheap outfitting and so on.. I still want to know whats gonna be done by everyone that got ships from there now . caus they will have rebuy costs for 300k and so on..

Wow. I was there yesterday and I didn't notice :(

- Fixed rating benefits for increased bounty and bond values
- Fixed trading modifiers for Edmund Mahon

is it correct that this does not apply to the 5% trading bonus that Torval and Mahon have at rating 2?
Or was it just fixed for Mahon?

also: has someone tried if wings are suddenly working again? or is it still broken?

Thanks for the news.

One question, though: What about the 20 canisters per instance limit, which cripples piracy? Has that been removed/modified, or at least been realized as a serious problem?

Thanks in advance.

Has it? I was at big harry's monkey hang out when they dumped multiple T9's filled with palladium for an entire day back in 1.1 and I didn't see any cap then. There was no cap in Lugh and at any of the CG's before 1.3.

We all know station dumping is bad and should be stopped. This new 20t cargo limit should only be in station instances and cz.

It wasn't in the patch notes for 1.3, it was brought up as a bug in the 1.3 beta.

If this is your final word on the subject then a lot of players are going to be disappointed.

It shows you don't play your own game if you think the cap has been in place since beta.

It has broken pvp piracy and it's not just pirates who think it's silly, there's a ton of forum and reddit feedback about this change from players off all professions.

A solution to this may be limitting drops AT stations to 20km from it. In normal space - leave it as it is and we're fixed;]

Or eject one cargo cannister per hold per cargo type with however-much was spaced inside it. Then allow a pilot to space n of x cargo type in one go. That would reduce the problem significantly.

I am sorry Michael but you seem to be unaware of what exactly we are talking about. There is a limit that makes player-dropped canisters physically explode as soon as a limit of 20 is reached in a normal space instance. And something like that was definitely not in the game since beta.

Here is a video by former pirate CMDR Bangfish who met a very unfortunate trader that didn't unbind his "Drop all cargo" button. You can clearly see more than 20 physical containers of imperial slaves floating around 2:00. This was before 1.3.

The physical limit is what is killing piracy, we would be fine with an option to limit the amount of visually rendered cargo to help low-end PCs.

FD please update the support page https://support.elitedangerous.com/kb/faq.php?id=63 with the data.ovx and Root.ovl for the latest patch.
I can't upgrade due to validation errors.
note that doing all the steps in the KB article results with the same error.

I second this request! I've been unable to play for the past week and half ever since the 1.3 upgrade due to numerous validation errors and only managed to fix it myself this morning.
Was hoping to play a bit this afternoon until I saw that 1.3.04 was out and ... drum roll please ... more validation errors...
