Ah, no problem! To be honest, I've hunted the UA for not much than 15/20 hours in total so it was very lucky of me, I cannot complain.
I'm sure there will be another convoy: but I really hope you've solved the Mystery before I come back from my beloved Sicily!

I'm not 100% sure because all happened too fast and I was jumping from a system to another one: what I'm sure is that it was almost half way between Bhritzameno and Furuhjelm I-645, using a Courier with 14.5ly range.
But the system is not that important, believe me, what's important is to stay around the places where Helsey disappeared...
Or perhaps, try jumping from whichever system toward that area of space: how can I say, it was too "smooth" to seem totally casual...

I turned on my PC, loaded Elite, and said to myself: let's do a short trip to Furuhjelm I-645, it is the last place the President was seen alive, before he jumped.
Let's see if there are more chances to find an UA...
I was in Bhritzameno as usual, route planned, little more than 100ly to destination.
I was sat bad, talking with my wife, children playing around me, reading the forum on mobile...
After 4 or 5 jumps, while charging my FSD for the next jump, I see it: A Strong Signal Source in front of me: the first of the Night.
I stop the FSD charging. Entered it.
The UA Convoy... too many things went bad, I was not prepared being my first SSS of the night, yesterday I forgot to update my fire groups after some outfitting changes, and everything went wrong. I mean, I was able to follow the T9 jumping alone and all of that, but it took too much time to scan the wake, all the other ships shooting, and me with the wrong fire groups, Shield Cells not working and so on...
When I jumped after the T9, I found two low wakes in the system: I had to chose. I chose bad.
A suggestion: leave Timocani where it is. Come near the place where Halsey Disappeared. I think the UA appears in that circle of 250ly around Azaleach: that's the region of space Mic Brookes was referring to.
And another suggestion: do not stay in one system waiting for SSS to spam. Jump, from a system to another, and the first SSS could be the good one.
I've found other 6 convoys in a row, doing like that... Not a second UA btw.
I'm leaving for my holidays tomorrow, for the next 3 weeks I will not be able to play. But I will follow this thread, as usual, from my mobile. Less writing, more reading.
But let me say this:

How do you know that system was the last one she was in before contact was lost?
I don't see the link.....except with the 6 mins thing though.......
I'm sure the UA gathers the data it scans and when it dies, it warps back to its origin point to share the data. "WAKE UP" could be a hint, like we should scan it with the Frameshift "Wake" Scanner while it decays and it might activate something. I've just recently read about the UA and you guys are doing a marvelous job trying to unravel this mystery!
EDIT: Well I'm stupid, if it leaves no Wake when it dies, you cannot scan it...Anyway, good luck!

Do UAs always point in the same direction when dropped? If so can we use the directions from several of them to plot a converging course?
My thinking is that when we warp, we have to point in the right direction first - if the UAs are warping then perhaps they have to point where they are going first.
Testing this does not have to involve destroying them. - just drop - record direction - scoop - move around a bit - repeat

One of the firsts tests I did, actually. We had hope the UA acted like an arrow or a compass and would point towards a system.
Sadly the orientation of the UA changed each time it was dropped.
If I understand you correctly, you are saying that you dropped the same UA several times in the same system and it pointed in a different direction each time.
That makes it difficult to sustain the warp drive theory......
Unless....do they change orientation as they degrade? (Grasping at straws here..)
Putting on tinfoil hat and lightning conductor.....
Maybe thats the clue - that the UAs don't point to a specific direction....if Raxxla is in a different dimension maybe it doesn't matter which way you are pointing....

No, I did multiple drops in the same place a couple weeks ago. After each of the three drops, even after "settling" for a minute or two, the UA was pointed in a completely different direction. If it's a compass, it's a terrible one.
Thanks for that - The warp drive theory pretty much depends on them pointing at something - unless they move sideways like crabs (have we tried the Crab nebula?)
I may have to find a new "bonkers" theory.....

Yes - I see it all - by an amazing co-incidence MrTree was actually in the Raxxla system!!!!!!! The UA was pointing at a nearby fast moving planet!!!!!!! Thus pointing in a different direction each time!!!!! The Home Of INRA is discovered!!!!!
