OMG! You can make 20+Mil Cr per Hour, if you didn't realise.

Between the smuggling exploit and cqc, the open world is pretty empty at the moment (apart from Sothis space station). I jumped on the bandwagon like the rest of these asps but it dawned on me that this will ruin the economy - Many of Elite's narratives are driven by economy - if this carries on, there will be 2000 + new battle condas on the space ways next week - lets hope people are responsible with them.

Look on the bright side. 500 or so of those battle condas will go into a HazRes or CZ and need to be replaced. Faulcon DeLacy stock is going to skyrocket!

Yeah, it's no different to when rares where introduced before release, and people made 500mil before they got nurfed, same old same old...

I was around for the rares. Did it. Did Sothis yesterday, pulled in average of 12m an hour with a 45m total pull. I am Tycoon ranked trading and get 7-8m an hour listening to audio books, zoning out, mindlessly trading.

Rares were totally profits.

This is NOTHING close to how rares were initially. This is also quite a challenge, with probably what I would say is a 20% chance at least of losing it all initially on the trip back to the bubble.

This is a pretty serious challenge, and very engaging.

... honestly, I would say this is what the game SHOULD be more like. I hope ED does more things like this, rather than straying away from it. This was the most engaged I have been in ED in a very long time.

Even the rares trading stuff was actually what I would classify as having been very mindless, esp since NPC interdictions back then were very poorly made and could be avoided 100%. Yesterday was a serious challenge.

Sure, maybe so, but when earnings jump from 50 million per week through undermining, 4-6 million per hour through trading, to a stunning 20 - 30 million per hour for...switching between modes to get big bounty missions, you've got to ask yourself what effect it has - As Kevin Bacon might say, it's a NO BRAINER.

Oh I don't know, maybe they'll start listening? They're approaching the point of do or die really. People are already skipping over pretty much the entire line of small ships. When everybody is jumping from Sidey to Asp to Python to Cutter they'll have to do something or just pretend the rest of the ships have no purpose.

+1 for all the points, mate!

This is not easy at all, very engaging, exciting and rewarding. And that's how this game should be. I'm on fire for playing again.

FD, don't touch a thing please!

How is it a challenge? You fit double chaff, you submit to interdictions when they happen, you high wake. Done. No challenge whatsoever. If you get fined by an NPC, ignore the fine, there's literally nothing that forces you to pay your fine/bounty.

You know what, so did I, but I'm really not sure if I deserve this gold plated battle conda I just bought along with the other 2000 asps passing through Sothis in the past day. I guess the conda will be the new viper. Hooray...NOT

Not the players' fault, it's the devs, and this cake has been baking since Beta. Tons of players warned them that they didn't have enough sinks in the economy.

5% rebuy costs on ships is ridiculous, fuel and ammunition is pennies, repair bills are pathetic, and the economy ensures that once you pass a certain threshold in wealth you start skyrocketing towards the next tier at a much faster rate than what you were previously at.

Now that doesn't mean you need to increase all of the things I listed, you can introduce other costs for players, but they are undeniable examples that Frontier has never done a multiplayer economy in a long haul game like this, being virtually the only credit sinks in the game that mean anything.

Is there anyway to buy an ASP out at Sothis or CEOS? or will i need to travel back to usual places of stock? What is the nearest place to here?

I chose to buy a 15% off ASP at Diaguandri /Ray Gateway
http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=70g,0...5Rr5Rr,2-7_8S7_6u6Q8S8I,0AA7Sk05U05U4zM7dg2UI

...according to INARA website...
http://inara.cz/market/9808/3888
...the nearest place to Sothis that has ASP is Varati /Thompson Dock ...so I figured if it's that far away might as well build a cheap ASP (as cheap as you can lol) at Diaguandri system :D

Just in case people don't realise, you don't need any of that heat sink / silent running / chaff nonsense to smuggle in any ship (not tried a T9 personally).

Line up with the slot about 7km out, then hammer in max speed, then zero throttle as you go through the slot, and let the DC land you. Works EVERY TIME. Never been scanned, not once.

I found that was the better approach for me in smaller ships...until get I get sloppy, tired, or desperate lol & hit the boost on my way to the station's mail slot...then WHAM!! ...back of the station wall I hit, thankfully I keep shields equipped :D
.. in the screenshot below I had full shields 5A before hitting that wall ;)

But also bear in mind that you can now get scanned at Outposts when sitting on the landing pad.

You need to enter the hanger to avoid the scans.

This was news to me until it happened twice

lol I didn't know that, but I did get scanned while at Sothis /Newholm Station ...docked on the pad inside & looking around at all the ASP & then scanned /fined for illegal cargo...immediately went into the hanger....since then I always go inside to the hanger everywhere I go.

Isn't it better to send pips to system so the jump charges faster? Or at least split the pips between engine & system?

yes, i have 4 pips to engine, still leaves 2 for system, i just run this all the time when smuggling. And the idea of submitting means you jump quick enough anyway with a decent power distributer
I am not even convinced sys pips effects jumping much at all, as long as the capacitor is full anyway.

On the trip back I lost shields, and it was 2 clippers and a viper that almost took me down entirely, but I had my share of other clippers and cobras that caused me trouble. I continually did heat damage from interdictions at stars, and "chaff" doesn't seem to totally affect NPCs for some reason.

I never referenced the fines. I got a few 100K fines, but didn't care much for them.

The main challenge however, when the pirates hopped in with each other in faster ships than mine, while I was also near a star.

And there we go, was about to hand in the last mission of this run when i got interdicted by some Pirate. FSD failed for some reason (i always submit and run) and a Clipper and a Federal Ship (not sure wich one) popped in and blew me apart like i was made out of Paper.
So there IS risk in this, dont call this easy peasy money like the seeking luxury Stuff back in the day.

At Entrepreneur rank this is just awesome. I did 2 runs today, total earned 105m. With pauses between deliveries and spending 1,5-2h getting the right missions (so 3-4h total for that), I have spent 8h doing both runs.
That is really not so awesome money like some are making it to be, I actually think earnings are fine having all requirements in mind.

But most important part for me is:
The hell I wouldn't be able to spend 8h (2x4h) doing any A-B trade route, even if it gives bigger profit!!!
Time pass so fast doing this, and I like that. It is so nice mix of everything.

I was at 12% tycoon when I started doing this missions. After one full day of doing these missions, I just hit elite in trading.

How many hours exactly did you play? 24? 16? Less? ;)

I calculated that you have made 548 millions + whatever change during that time. Easy to find out your cr / hour from there.
