Infinite distance debug cam confirmed?
Do metallic veins point towards that it's somehow volcanic? I think it's just a rocky planet close enough to its star to make some elements evaporate on the lit part of its surface. I agree that volcanic stuff will be added later in Horizons - never said it wouldn't, but it's not related to close up view quality. Current season taught us that if it's not looking great at release it wouldn't look better at the end. This video shows a (in part) volcanic planet...just not with active volcanism added yet, which will come later in the season.
Wake me up on the 24th please![]()
I think that was lava lakes. The OP basically says so.Do metallic veins point towards that it's somehow volcanic? "showing the effect of volatiles forming as a mist in a deep crater"
Anyone care to explain what 'volatiles forming' means?![]()
Definition:I think that was lava lakes. The OP basically says so.
And quote from 0P:Volatile - evaporating rapidly; passing off readily in the form of vapor: Acetone is a volatile solvent.
this time showing the effect of volatiles forming as a mist in a deep crater on a cold, rocky, uninhabited world
You could at a stretch consider that volatile mist as a mini atmosphere of sorts within the crater - atmospheric landings!![]()
That......is a amazing, please tell me though that either confidential/debug camera will be able to go out further from stuff with horizon update or that we can get a module or such that could do the same, please. Landscape shots with SRV just being tiny and barely noticeable for scale..Here's another unedited video taken from Elite Dangerous: Horizons. Again, many things here are unfinished which I won't call out. This shows another slow zoom, but this time showing the effect of volatiles forming as a mist in a deep crater on a cold, rocky, uninhabited world:

I haven't seen any improvements in graphics in our current game season since its release in 2014. Why should I expect it for Horizons?
What planet is that? I want to add it to my list to check out when Horizons drops. That large crater looks like it would be fun in the SRV!
I'm still a bit worried we haven't seen the transition from SC to OC...
I mean when we see videos of the camera everything is seamless but they will HAVE to add a transition somewhere to load the instance (network). I hope it is smoother than the one we have in asteroids...
You obviously haven't seen the "How to Make a Real World " livestream that cleary showed a massive improvement of Horizons over what worlds without atmosphere currently look like.

Don't tell me you can't see the difference.
I'm amazed by what I see in Horizons, except for closeup view of the ground/terrain (closer than 300 meter around buggy). But during the current season I haven't seen any improvements in graphics - it actually got a lot worse since what we saw in beta 2014 for the sake of xbox contract. So my point is: if closeup view wouldn't look great at release of Horizons there's no reason to expect it will get better until 3rd(or later) season.
