Has anyone checked out Maia B1 BA yet?

I'm heading there now to have a quick look around this week in case any evidence were to go missing in the hands of the Federation.

Edit: I see Eagle 5 did. I will do so as well.

Ive just left there, found nothing apart from one CMDR, just floating and a lot of salvageable wreckages; all tea. Maybe the goids love their earl grey.

Ooooookay.

If anyone has the brilliant idea of spending a couple hourse taking one little hitchiker to all the planets of Merope for a concert don't do it :D
It won't tell you anything important other than the name of the object you're on.

And now I'm going to throw the little into Merope itself...

One thing to note. On Merope 1A just upon releasing it, the UA seemed to emit a new tone which wasn't part of the repeating cycle. It only happened on this planet and only once and I might be hallucinating.
On 3B there was a HUGE area that seemed like foggy. I saw some POIs there but postponed discovering them for a day.

All hail!

Protip: Increase your scanner range when flying in your ship and you can see POI from a distance. If you zoom out really far you can even detect multiple POI at the same time. You'll need to be at least 2 km above any surface to detect them!

That's what I've been doing. It's very effective and I also highly recommend it :)

*Sigh... Ive been playing this game for months and had no idea you could do that -_-

I just learned today x) I'm a fail

It was a while ago when I was looking at the controls menu and thought ''why would I bother changing scan range?''

I first made good use of it hunting in HazRes sites. That behaviour carried over to planets. POIs. POIs everywhere! :p

I think you have the right to be angry silent :) ... We're pretty much stuck ! I've been trying to tell you guys as well : how on ... Well I was gonna say earth but I'm gonna say merope for sarcasm , so how on merope are we supposed to find clues for the ua mystery on 12 1:1 scale moons that only have materials and skimmers or canisters of tea or coffee or gold or escape pods on them ? Unless you guys at frontier put us on a right direction we're pretty much stuck circling on the moons of merope ... And don't think I'm just saying that ... Since horizons came out I have driven 500 km on my srv on the moons of merope ( which was very fun ) and started to realize I'm just wasting my time ... Everybody has been searching for clues and more specific the temple of doom you guys have shown on the trailer ... And the result was nothing ! ... Don't get me wrong guys ! I love the fact that you guys at frontier have come up with the UA story and it's an awesome way of telling it but come one guys ... We want to solve this mystery and head on to the others ! Like Polaris and star ship one and the missing just like mr Brookes mentioned but if you guys don't give us clues or content on the UA more people will just lose their hope and just get back to what they did before just like silent mentioned . I hope you read this and understand how many people want to solve this mystery and then you start helping us
cmndr Ayal

Yeah, this is one massive challenge... and has only just begun.

This is much better than a small challenge that will be over in a week :)

Or did you want easy mode, solve it now, and be left twiddling your thumbs for the rest of season 2?

I think we need a bit of time to try to figure things out... then as MB and team see fit to feed us subtle clues if required.

I'm not sure I follow... you're having fun.. how is that wasting time, its a game?

I shall be checking out systems around Merope starting in and around the Pleiades focusing on metal-rich planets close to the primary star for barnicles though I think it may be easier to find meta-alloys. I guess they'd be floating in signal sources as the description says found in space? Equally would belt clusters near stars be worth checking?

My first trip didn't yield much further out except a lot of someone elses Gold which made a nice profit in Maia. :)

This is an interesting theory. It makes me wish that the ED universe was a little more dynamic. I would love the chance to watch a supernova go off. I'm sure the logistics of doing that in a shared universe would be pretty mind-boggling figure out, but it would still be awesome. I know people talk about the lack of "story" in ED, but from my perspective, the universe is the story, and that's where I'd like to see more depth. I'd like to see cepheid variables pulsate, neutron stars shoot out polar jets, stellar winds buffet the ship, etc. It also bugs the poop out of me that certain nebula look the same in the 34th century as they do in the 21st even though we know that they change over time.

The problem with any change to the galaxy that will be visible from a distance is that the change should only propagate at lightspeed. If Merope went supernova right now it would only appear as a supernova in Merope. From Maia it would still look like it does now for another 4 years. Of course they could ignore that and just have it propagate instantly but that would be horribly unrealistic (I'd say immersion breaking but I hate that term).

You're right about the nebulae though I'm happy enough to accept anachronisms as the price of getting hand-drawn nebulae. I would like to see more hand-drawn nebulae even if they are inaccurate, there are some absolutely iconic cases like the homunculus nebula (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculus_Nebula) that are only procedurally generated (and they've messed up the position of the star at the centre to boot).

Thank you Mr. Brookes. I genuinely believe this is a sincere apology. I'm sorry I took a video game seriously enough to get mad about it over the internet. It's funny, how the internet let's you wear a mask and say things that you would never say I'm real life to some ones face because of how absurd it is.

Anyway, I think the most important thing we can take from this is that the devs are watching the server closer than they're watching this thread. Which means they must have a lot of ways to see what we've done.

This makes me really curious about what makes the system that Jmanis has been hoarding UA at so special. Any thoughts?

The number of UA's required is still higher than what Jmanis has sold, and we could have underestimated the amount of player activity at the other stations...

or there is some other factor we have currently overlooked.
