Is trading ruined now? -Money making

I've been trading lately, with my 720T cargo hold cutter I managed to get 1.9m profit from A to B, and 150k profit from B to A. And it's drying out every seconds. I've scouted around and can't find any system that is more profitable than this.

I have quite a few very profitable routes, so I'm not sure what you're talking about?

You just have to find a good route until the trade tools recover.

I'm making 2800/tonne in a one-jumper and I have another 4-jumper worth 4100/tonne...

trading's still orders of magnitude better than many other professions, and the best/easiest way of making money in the game

Not early on it's not. Any trading before you get in a T7 (which you need a good 25 mill or so considering the fit, cost of insurance, and a cull cargo load, 30 mill if you want to "afford your cargo twice" just in case). From all my study and research, tries and fails, the most money you can make in a loop route trading pre T7 is about 350k round trip. Considering a round trip will take approximately 12-15 minutes, you can do it roughly 4 times an hour making around 1.4 mill per hour. You can double that Bounty Hunting in a Sidewinder at a HRES.

That being said, finding a good trade route by the time you have a good T7 fit hauling 212T+ you can potentially make upwards of 3 mill per hour, even more when you get T9 or even a Cutter... jeesh, thinking 20 mill an hour trading. But then again, that's the goal for most. Getting to that "top tier" ship, that massive hunk of junk that can make you millions... Billions, but this is where most people struggle, getting the billions to fly it, and now the even more difficult task of gaining ranks. Point is, Trading is NOT the best profession in the game UNTIL you have passed the mark that is hardest to pass, ~60 million Cr.

My previous trade route was 2.5 million per circuit. That got hit as of 1.5 due to the selling price of Imp. Slaves at a few extraction worlds falling from 3400CR to around 2500CR. The selling price of Palladium was hit on my route as well.

Got a new route now but I scout around in my Adder now and then to check on local prices since eddb.io is not accurate at the moment for market prices since 1.5.

Try Thrudd's.

I can see that there is now a planetary outpost with a commodities market exporting Imperial Slaves in the system where I used to sell them, so the system is probably now fulfilling its own demand.
I think this is at least part of the problem. I've seen quite a few planetary outposts with different economies from the stations. Meaning its quite possible to have a situation like high tech, industrial and refinery all in one system. All partially meeting demands and reducing trade potential.

Yep, this is exactly what I have noticed too. My trade routes that were hit the hardest had outposts show up that appear to be filling some of the demand.

Since most outposts seem to have relatively low supplies, I'm hoping the drops I'm seeing are just an initial spike, and once the BGS realizes that the outposts can't sustain the demand prices will revert at least partway back to previous levels. I hope.

Either way, the ability for a system to be partly self-sufficient by having so many mixed economies has a lot of potential badness. Taken to the extreme, a completely self-sufficient system (i.e. one that doesn't need to rely on trade with other systems) would effectively be a dead spot for traders. I can appreciate that this situation would be realistic, but it should also be fairly rare. Otherwise it's going to have a severe negative impact on the diversity of viable trade routes.

I just bought a cutter to start my trading experience, full fitted it as a trader (with shields :p) but really cannot find any nice route. what can you suggest? loop trades?

TY

Hmm preety sure you can still haul slaves from torval space as before. Get the cutter, over 700t cargo space. Or some smuggling, plenty of new goods available.

buy imperial slaves at zemina torval agriculture stations, sell them to high tech stations that consume imps, and bring back consumer goods or performance enhanceers or progenitor cells.

Its a double-hit for players like myself on Xbox One because we can't even see those outposts on system maps, let alone land on them yet. You're right, it should be rare for a system to be totally self sufficient.

To me, it seems like the routes are "nerfed" I guess you can say? How on earth are we gonna be able to get High-End ships?
-Is it all prices that's gone down or just the most stations or what? - I don't really get it.
-I bought Horizons just to try it out, is it good money? (Collecting and exploring).

Would i still be able to make 75mil on about 3 weeks or is that a no-go?
I got Vacation so.. Yea. Got a bit spare time on my hands.

ALSO: Will the Python be worth it? It seems like a good deal, Good for trading aswell. But is it worth it?

Bit late to the thread. .. and I freely admit I have not read all the replies.... but I have noticed a general reluctance to share route info anymore. .. people are becoming more guarded with the advent of the Cutter.

I checked my own routes... and they are still good...

I always fall back to trading for simple credit grinding. . But it depends on mood

I don't know about that, EDMC has only been back a couple of hours and there has been over 2500 updates on the EDDN network since !

Oh right, that is tricky. I assumed you would be able to see the outposts like PC players on 1.5.

On the flipside, most people I know with a Conda (and the new ultra-huge ships) mostly exploited the myriad trade bugs present in the game for the first ~6 months.

The only "bug" I exploited to get my starting fortune was the Diso Ma Corn CG - was home in bed with a sick jaw and E: D was nicely distracting. I put in way more hours than I'm comfortable saying slogging back and forth mindlessly with the Rare Corn (you can really grind painlessly while on Vicodin). I don't think I'd do it again but it did give me the credits for my first Anaconda.

Having the Cutter locked behind a very high Navy rank is somewhat disappointing, especially as the community's consensus is that it's a great trader but awful fighter. I'd think Elite Trader status would be enough of a prerequisite for buying such an expensive trader, not an extremely-high Navy rank.

is the black market sell bonus still not working?
anyone knows if this is 100% not working or on some places it does?
