This was probably caused by the "too much Tea" intoxication, occurred in Pleiades...

It's there. Look again.

Wait a sec.

Tea, too much tea in Pleiades?
Is there such a thing as too much tea?

"I'm sorry to inform you, your entire family was killed in a chip pan fire".
"I'll put kettle on".

Isn't tea the cure for everything in Britain?

I have to ask, has a good cup of tea been tried?

Tea salvage to Obsidian, for example.

Tickles the irony bone if true.

Looks good, although light pollution isn't that bad in this shadowy canon.
Maybe someone with a better eye can see if it's close to the skybox in the trailer

taken at BQ-Y d47 puppis dark. I think we might have to "position" orion nebula for fine aiming.
Anyone out here note it's not the system we're looking for although I think it's the "normal" puppis not the "B"

Hope that helps

It's not quite. That galaxy on the left (green) should be lower. There's another galaxy that sits on top of it (Red).

Way off unfortunately. Firstly you're way too far away and the nebula to the left is way too far up in your picture whereas in the trailer it is about 1/4 way down maybe a bit less. You're misaligned as well as you should be able to see the curve of the loop at the bottom more evidently (say head east from the pictures POV) and the nebalu itself is skewed at about 340 degrees rather than completely vertical as in your pic. Ironically the very small nebula at the center is in pretty much the exact spot it is in the trailer, but it shouldn't be lined up with the nebula to the left, in the trailer they don't even cross the same vertical space so that left nebulae needs to go way south. Again though, it looks to me like you are way to far from the nebulas in question.

Bear in mind the vertical skew may just be a matter of turning your ship in space, but there are a number of indicators that you're quite a long way off. Good effort though, replicating it isn't going to be exactly easy and even then we'll have to experiment to see how many ly you have to jump to misalign the nebula to work out what the searching range could be. It's going to be no easy task. IMO it may be easier to align the images in the galaxy map and jump to the location nearest then draw a mental line out to try and match the distance by experimenting. (many jumps)

EDIT: Going by the comparison picture above it's pretty evident also that the planet which the photo is taken from is relatively close to either the main star or another star within the system which I'd guess others spotted too, so at least that gives us a bit of criteria to work once we find a similar location to start at.

Oddly I'm finding nothing for the Antares CG in salvageable wreckage.

The only lot I've found so far was in a distress signal.

Rats! I've been away from the game for too long. I don't think I've seen "wreckage components" before. Is it a new thing or have I been missing it somehow?

Also, does that mean we can now literally scoop up "loose" pieces of floating wreckage? It would be a little weird to go to a wreckage site and find that some pieces of a wrecked Vulture hull have neatly worked themselves into a few canisters for me to scoop up.

Sort of. It seems like it's a CG to progress the story of finding the ship. It's hard to say what the results could be, perhaps some coordinates or a riddle that gives us a clue where to look. Honestly I kind of wish it didn't need to have a CG tied to it and that we could just go find the starship, that would be a whole load more fun in my opinion.

The problem with that is that the galaxy so big, us running into a ship is unlikely. Frontier introduce need some mechanics that allow us to read black boxes and talk to survivors in escape pods and read the data we can obtain from ground outposts. Once that in place Frontier can introduce us to other avenues to find these ships. Here hoping that will come in with their craft system.

Plus riddles at crack by this community and reddit within seconds, I don't think any of the treasure hunts last longer than 24hrs. No game company has the resources to produce riddles and other puzzles fast enough to keep us occupied.

It's close but not the right alignment.I've been looking at the images for the last 9 hours :-/

I've got very close to where I think it is,although finding the precise system is harder.
Can't move too much from the trajectory without losing some alignment but it must be nearby.

My best location compared to the trailer was near HD 48240.

Scouting around the area for viable metal planets as i assume the light distortion in the trailer would reduce the brightness i observed from further away from stars. It would seem no further away from the sun than around 50 ls.

Having scouted around a few areas i must make a emergency return with what data i have. Due to one 3.7g metal planet having a liking for my ship, i barely escaped after the second splatdown.

17% hull and heading home to search for the Antares before you have to come search for my debris.

Edit: one thing, for dark places, try landing on a planet near a brown dwarf star, now those places are near pitch black. could be a location for barnacles.

just for fun, was visiting Pan system a day or two ago, and someone stole a piece of the jigsaw. nice graphical glitch.

Hard to tell with the image quality but this looks rather close. The positions of the related nebula are extremely close to what's shown in the trailer. Hard to say for sure due to the blurry image, but it definitely looks the closest so far. Pity it's hard to make out some of the finer details of the nebula. I'm on my way back from a large journey but I'm going to have to take a loot around that region when I get back.

Actually with the updated pictures I can see that the top left nebula is slightly off. Looks a little too far south and slightly closer to the loop than in the trailer, but very close. Using the smaller nebula to the left for reference I'd you need to be a little closer to the loop to increase the distance they appear at, then it's just a matter of aligning their position vertically.

I know the alignment is off :) As I stated (in edit) the picture meant to help others the area.
HIP 38064 should be much better
- brightest in the puppis
- closer to Barnard's Loop
- if you turn everything off on the map and hit powerplay view it's shiny as a POI :D

This particular system is off the list.
Only 199.999.999.999 rest!

That looks pretty spot on. What's your location? :O Cant be far from me.
Edit: I see where you are at - that's really impressive that you managed to pull that off :D

Actually it's a tip for fast braking, but can be used with scooping

That's some amazing job! Maybe you'll be able to align stars as they are on that pic [thumbs up]

Nice. Could be.
But the nebula seems to be just the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC)

It is.

One commonality the trailer had, was that it was dark - dusk/dawn when the Unknown Alien Palm Trees are shown. Maybe they are nocturnal or something, akin to certain plants that bloom at night.

Another thing is - if there's two commanders in same salvage instance, then as soon as one jumps out it spawns 8 more containers to pick up. There's no need to battle for them

That's really interesting. Maybe it's to stop one person sitting at the spawn in open and effectively "blocking" the canister spawn.

Amaze! I didn't realise that was possible from the footage. =p

So here goes:

If you zoom all the way out on the Galaxy map, you will see a few points of interest in grey text.
They are: Polaris, Sol, Achenar, (a few more), and NGC 6357. Apparently Polaris is locked (permit required) for future game development. NGC 6357 is an 'area' inside of a nebula, as such it cant be targeted. NGC 6357 is about 8,000LY from Merope. It's possible that it is 'highlighted' because it's part of future expansion. Maybe it's been expanded via 2.0....
I'm not sure, but has anyone been to NGC 6357 with a Buggeh?

Anyway, I think I'm about 1/2 way there. I'll report back when get there :)

My bad, for not inviting anyone before I left!

I'm
