I have read a lot about the importance FD place in the audio in this game as well as people reporting 'strange sounds' that later turn out to be known phenomenon. Would it be worth us (if it has not already been done) compiling a list/library of known in-game stellar sounds and their cause just to aeke it easier to eliminate something you hear that sounds strange?
I am also starting to wonder whether I should pay more attention to the various sounds, for example, sound of the detailed surface scan (well thats always the same, propably, depending on the distance), and to the sound of stars when viewing the galaxy map. I kinda overlooked the sound side of the game, but beginning to realize the importance of sounds when I'm listening to the SRV scanner.
Such compilation, as you suggests would be somewhat ardous task as we would need to have proper equipment and software, then make a directory of samples etc. But at least I think I will be paying more personal attention to the sounds from now on.

EDIT TO ADD:
I also started to document different visuals in SRV scanner by taking a pic from them and attaching it to the discovered objects. So far I've found crashed satellites or beacons, crashed ships with cargo, Mesosiderites, Outcrops etc, and have a pic for each signal. Maybe I post them one day.
ANOTHER EDIT:
Well this is funny, when one sense (eyes and balling with them) doesn't bear the expected results, we are starting to rely on another sense (hearing, audio). When this fail to produce any results considering barnipples, we will probably be using our tongue for taste or fingers for touching and feeling. When these fail, we begin to rely on the "6th sense" or dial to number of local clairvoyant
