Thank you!!![]()
Nice gameplay and setup![]()
I am sad that saitek don't want to make analogue sticks on thruster that would be recognizable in games.
I noticed in one video that CH HOTAS have analogue stick and it was just perfect for use in space sim games for thruster maneuvers.
Not sure if warthogs analogue ministick can be used in same way...
Are you playing Premium Beta or Alpha?
Premium Beta has Alpha 1 which is very old and was not update since December. It can only recognize only one controller device.
Alpha 3 released the 15.03 made it possible to use multiple controller devices.
I have the same issue as Durrell, and have premium beta. I have to say it's a bit disappointing that beta access is just a time-delayed alpha, with all the original bugs intact!
I kind of thought the point was to fix bugs found in alpha and then release to beta for more stress testing and check for NEW bugs. Not simply dump known bugs on the beta crowd. What is the point of that?

I'm looking at investing in something similar, including an x55 rhino, but I am not sure I want all the monitor rig on it.
Also, what do you have the pedals bound to in Elite? If it's yaw, then what's on the z-axis of the stick?
Also...x55 Rhino? Good or great?
Woka
Z-axis on the sticks is actually RZ-axis and is set to Yaw. Pedals are for vertical and lateral thrust.
*confused* how?
2 pedals = 2 directions.
Vertical + Lateral = 4 direction.
...or am I such being really silly and missing something obvious?
I was thinking of putting them on an 8 way hat on the throttle, or the mouse stick on the throttle.
Right, just got back after a course last week and my X55 has arrived!!
Mrs hadn't opened the parcel either so is oblivious that I have upgraded my HOTAS joystick from the Thrustmaster T-Flight X (which incidentally is a great stick, just not quite enough buttons(up/down thrusters mainly)) - so all is peaceful on that front
Very impressed with the quality for the price (as stated earlier, £169 from Gameshark (although packaged in a joytech.net box)). It feels at least as solidly built as the Thrustmaster, no wobble at the deadzone, the spring setup to change the stiffness of the joystick is well designed and simple to swap around, even the Throttle HATs which I thought looked like they would be the most flimsy part of the build on videos I had seen feel solid. Overall I think its a great piece of kit and well priced in relation to what you get.
Only downside I feel at this initial point in time is that the joystick is a bit on the big side for me (I would say I've average sized hands). I have to actually move my hand up the stick to reach the top controls (HAT 1 and 'A' button) with my thumb as you need to stretch over the POV and HAT 2 controls.
I installed the Saitek drivers, plugged both the throttle and stick into the PC and Windows (7, 64) recognises it, however E: D doesn't pick up the joystick at all, and 'most' controls are mapped to the throttle. I am in Alpha so after reading previous posts in this thread, expected it to be at least recognised with just a few tweaks to set up, however this isn't the case. I've re-installed the drivers, unplugged the joystick and throttle and plugged them in again, changed the E: D controller options to Custom / X52 / X52 Pro / mouse and keyboard to no avail...
Any other X55 owners with suggestions / solutions? Am I missing something completely? Do I need to re-install E: D for the game to recognise I have a new controller so it is added to the list of available ones in game? At a bit of a loss now of what to do, so any help or suggestions are appreciated![]()
