Graceful refers to the way to exit the game. Pulling the plug= ungraceful. Through the menu = graceful.

The Irony is one is exactly how the game plays, every single time you fly a ship some NPC is gonna try to blow you up for absolutely no reason whereas the other is identical to using cheats to set my weapons to one hit kill.

Don't lump the first in with the second just because you don't like/agree with it, I don't like or do it either.

Let me make it real easy for you to which I suspect you will gain more support (especially from me):

- Remove all the legal menu loggers from your subreddit
- Change the definition of combat logging (as we are adhering to FDs definition, not yours, being they are the authority for ED)
- Request FD "do something" about the combat loggers
- Gather opinions here on the forum to support your request and I can almost guarrantee that everyone will be on your side.

I wouldn't be that quick to make those promises...

For the third time, there is a column in the list that specifies what kind of log it was. If you only consider taskkilling to be cheating (like Frontier), sort by taskkill. If you consider both to be cheating, leave the list as-is.

If Frontier wants to look at the list for their purposes, obviously they would disregard the 15s timer logs.

For the 3rd time back at you - I will not support someone who lumps clean, non rule breaking commanders in with pond scum.

Take it or leave it .. as it stands your subreddit is a witch hunt and I would direct people to avoid it.

I think there is no-one in that game session to see and take offense if the player decides to rip the internet connection out of the wall during their Solo playing session.

There is certainly no-one else there to video it and place it on a list of "Combat Loggers"

In the original post I included a link to my subreddit that I co-moderate, which is very comprehensive in the details for each log. However, it was removed for "naming and shaming", which has now muddied the water due to a lack of information to back up my claim. If I could un-moderate it, I would (I'd probably still get banned though)

I know! I deeply want your quick rundown to be true but it isn't - Its been a problem since release even I've got 57 cmdr names on a notepad beside me and I quit player piracy in like the middle of last year (and know the difference between a 15s and a plug-pull), FD haven't even made a token gesture to the problem in that time :/

I don't know man, I've been killed 165 times in this game, I eat the rebuy and move on, I don't understand what's so difficult about that. It's a game for goodness sake and cheating just to avoid a death and credit loss in a fake universe isn't worth being labeled a cheater to me.

Being a SDC member or not should not factor in at all, it is the definition of combat logger.

Actually Combat logging as per Sandro's Definition should enjoy punitive consequences.

for the Menu Log out, you cannot punish them as the rules have not been broken.

Push for the rule to be changes, longer timer etc is fine and encouraged, but not the punishment of those who have not broken any rules.

You see that the community is biased.
And that your group affiliation SHOULD not factor is your opinion. There is no rule against taking that into account when discussing something.

Pro-active measures to deal with Combat Logging would require the networking architecture to be changed. As Sandro has said, there is no "infallible arbiter" to take over control the departed player's ship.

Frontier do not publish any statistics relating to how they deal with players who cheat - however, just because they don't publish does not mean that nothing is done.
