Just watched a guy called "Nearchous" on Twitch streaming some Star Citizen.
I joined in mid-stream, as he was trying to engage in some FPS action. He got to one of those space stations in his ship, ran around for a bit after he landed, then got shot by a commander who was invisible.
He re-spawned back at Port Olisar, headed out to the place where you order a ship, only then to find that no matter what ship he selected, a big fat "X" sign would appear on the screen, denying him a ship. After doing this for a solid couple of minutes, he eventually decided to just run out to the nearest landing pad and see what ship was waiting there.
It was a Constellation (I think) which he approached, opening up the cargo bay doors at the back easily enough. Then he tried to make his way through the ship to get to the cockpit... Except that he found his way blocked due to the <<USE>> button not appearing on the HUD.
Which meant he couldn't open the door.
Try as he might, the <<USE>> icon refused to show up as his avatar bobbled awkwardly from one side of the ship's hallway to the next. Eventually Nearchous tired of this and simply ran at the obdurate obstruction, hoping to clip through it and make it to the corridor beyond... and it worked!
He then proceeded to the second door in the chain, with the cockpit tantalizingly close on the other side of the door's window. But yet again the curse of the non-existent <<USE>> icon rendered the door another immovable barrier....
And then Star Citizen crashed on him, live on stream.
I proceeded to laugh loudly (which I had been doing since this guy's struggles with ordering a ship) whilst there was a deafening silence on the stream as a black screen dominated the view. Then, with a heavy sigh, the Nearchous annouced that he was going to take a break from Star Citizen for a few minutes, his voice not able to contain the frustration and disappointment he clearly was feeling, and that's when I logged out myself.
So, I guess that this is the "fun" all those enthusiastic Star Citizen's are having with the 2.4 PU, "fun" that utterly blows away the drudgery and emptiness that is Elite: Dangerous and all those other games that just cannot compare to the "Best Damned Space Sim Ever!"....
Yeah right!
Aaahh - but when SC is released - it's going to be the most epic game of all time. We just don't understand game development, AAA casting, or gameplay.
It's going to be better than everything since the 8-bit days put together, it'll have more fidelity than a nunnery, a better shopping experience than Amazon, more intense gameplay than Progress Quest, a fight model so realistic that the rules of physics will have to be redefined, and graphics that would make DaVinci himself gasp and leak a little bit. It's going to be so unimaginable awesome that it has to be introduced bit by bit, with deliberate defects introduced to shield us from it's full majesty. It is, after all, CR's vision made manifest, and it must therefore be perfect.
You may joke, but there's a universe out there- a parallel one- where SC is where ED is now and Vice Verse (pun intended).
So... uh...
Damn I forgot my point.

Might be somewhere around here:Here ! I found it for you !

Can you buy a jacket in any of those games?
New for Star Citizen, a service that you can run when the game craps out on you: https://spaceholder.cc/
Oooh! WOW! THANK YOU!
Heh, and they said that these forums were toxic.
Rep!
Yet more stuff appears to be heavily faked in-game. This time, it appears instead of persistence on the character to determine if you're wearing suitable clothing for a zero atmosphere environment, it entirely relies on whether a use button has been pressed or not...

Haha I love oversights like this, it leads to some really odd things during development. I'm sure they will patch that out pretty quickly. I think "heavily faked" is maybe a bit harsh. Sure for now they are doing a simple boolean check to see if the player is wearing a spacesuit when they click the button but I suspect this is only temporary. They won't be able to use this trick when a ship transfers from space to a planet with an atmosphere or when a ship is in space and the hull is breached allowing the air to escape. CIG will have to come up with some other way of performing this check in real time.
Who cares about the toxic levels...just bring your "Gas-Mask"!!!

But joke aside honestly this thread is the "BEST" place on the web if you want to find out the truth and nothing but the truth about the SC development atm...You can collect "data"from all angles&sides + most of the posters are mature Gents that usually don't "fight" between eachother and even if they do occasionally they will use"gloves"........
Indeed, the current client is a placeholder for a game. It's a mock-up presented to fool people (especially game journalists). That has been the case for the past four years. I don't think that will ever change.I kinda hate the explanation its a placeholder. Because it practically currently applies to everything ingame.

Whats finished in your opinion then?.
Shops maybe?

They just keep doing design documents over and over again instead of confessing that yes they overscoped the project.
