I assume UA unless proven otherwise, Galmap seems to show that as on the UA shell (though not there to measure directly)

Hmm in the galmap that leads to HR8281 and its pretty far away, Any other names for it?
Wait can't read, Its the same system....A bit far from the nebula but might as well check

Hi Rizal, I'm not sure if this is important to science, but I found an UA about 90 odd LY's from Canonn Institute system COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 On my way back from California Nebula this was just after 2.1 went live.
Unfortunately I got too close, it was first time I saw one in the wild and the UA exploded, I did'nt bookmark the system at the time either, stupid me.
If any commanders are heading off to Elephants Trunk maybe detour and scan a 100-150 LY radius around COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 as well.

Well, 90ly from Canonn institute system, could be in the usual UA Shell, AFAIK.

COL 285 SECTOR IX-T D3-43 distance from Merope = 346Ly
346 - 90 = 146Ly.

Didn't even get out to Elephant before having to leave for work. I got about a third of the way there.

Will resume my exploration at about 10pm tonight. That Nebula is huge though so thank goodness we already know what the Ionizing Merope-equivalent is.

Hey guys I deliver my theory here.

As we know UA and UP is product of early (human?) civilization/corporation from the past. Something happened and they gone. And there is only crazy AI that trying to search and doing something unlawful in space.

Analyzing artefacts we discover they can into binary signals (remember how they draw player ships in grid?). According to this, maybe AI was self-teached thousand years based on accidentally met human technology in process. It is logical if they send info about player ships to mothership or HQ.

But. The binary symbols in the corner of message looks like they from Voyager. (I hope it applies to lore, not the fdevs random mind only for this case).

What if AI scan Voyager then it fly near alien mothership or home sector. Can someone check Voyager fly path according to ~2016-~3000 year in game? What sectors Voyager crossed?

Problem with your theory. Is that the UA and UP are alien. Im gonna get moand at for saying that. but its pretty obvious they are alien.

By 3301 Voyager will be very far away from a human perspective but will still be right on top of our Solar System from a galactic perspective. It won't even be a 1/10th of the way to the nearest star approach by then.

You don't know that, there could be hundreds of reasons for it being binary, for all we know the aliens could have swung by Sol. Or maybe they aren't alien at all and its all a human plot... You can't know for sure

If you read his replies, he seems fair and honest.
I suggest to check the nearby Nebula as well, and to cruise for some time in every system you check, knowing that those kind of spawns have changed (UA like).
There's no need to check every system, just pick them randomly, but accordingly to what we know about the UA Shell.

AND REMEMBER: even if you "simply" find an UA, IT IS IMPORTANT AS WELL!!! No UAs outside the shell so far.

Yes, I've noticed it: but are we sure that 60 days ago there was no UP floating around?
Perhaps they've added it later on the illegals list, to hint it a little more, as we were not finding them... who knows?

Ok so its taken me about 3 days worth of reading to catch up on most of whats going on here, i'm no scientist, i'm a simple thinker and have a few things i would like to test with these UP's and UA's, i am on my way out to Merope to do so as long as i can find the items i need that is lol

one of the things bugging me at the moment, I cant seem to find any chatter about the different types of scanner being used (could be i missed it), has anyone tried using the basic system scanner on the UP, it seems to produce an EMP and push back effect when scanned by an advanced system scanner, could this be due to the scanner being too powerful and in responce the probe is sending a powerfull blast back, if the basic scanner is used could this negate some of the probes EMP and push back effect allowing for a better signal to be produced/received, it might also be worth doing this test with the all the ships systems turned off apart from the power core, life support and system scanner, i will attempt to do this test for myself but as i am late to the party so to speak someone else thats already at site could perhaps test this?

ok never mind i see from the spread sheet this has already been tried.

Its possible thats why they said "found freefloating" in the newspaper?(i imagine they have a way to track if one's been found or not?) either way I have nothing else to do so i might as well go check it out, might get some nice screenshots
