You called out Elite's single player alpha for having multiplayer connection issues. So you admit you're full of it then?

Besides, I said people commented on its high quality, not that it was 100% perfect all the time. And people did, the article I posted attests to that quite clearly.

Also this is the Elite forum. No one here talking about Elite is an evangelist, by definition...

Do you know which people are evangelists, by definition?

That's for the courts to decide now isn't it. Like I have previously said, you take issue with how they run their business ask for a refund or take them to court; create that precedence for future crowdfunding cases; be the hero of consumer rights.

It'll never get to court. They fold immediately when called on it, because they know it's wrong.

That doesn't mean it's okay for them to try it in the first place! That's a very weaselly position to take on the issue.

So in conclusion, Elite Dangerous will have space legs but never involve guns because that would be wrong. Tune in next week when space travel is refactored out of Elite and it turns out the whole game takes place in Des Moines, Iowa so as not to tread on Chris Roberts' delicate dreams.

Actually - I may have remembered stuff wrong - I know the first alpha (1.0) was the flawless one, I can't remember whether multiplayer was introduced in alpha or beta (could have been a late alpha or early beta).

Whichever it was it was sorted out in weeks.

If I still had access to the SC ED calamari I could tell you, but I gave my SC package to a friend (it was his birthday, and anyway - I didn't like him much).

I'll say this for ED's alpha it was impressive enough for me to back it immediately having played the demo. I didn't back SC, haven't done so since and don't see anything changing soon based on the same rigorous two stage test :

Does it work.
Is it fun.

I know exactly what my words were. We have these things called "sentences", they do this thing called "provide context". Maybe you should rub the tears out of your eyes, you'll read better.

I even provided an example of just such a remark by a gaming site, so I'm not sure how you could possibly hope to prove me wrong on this.

Smooth and polished for an alpha is incredibly difficult to accept when you've been using "it's an alpha!" for years as bullet proof shield against all criticism, bad management, and terrible gameplay. So I can see why he's having trouble even accepting the concept exists. I mean, seriously: try to imagine any of the builds that CIG has produced being referred to as "smooth and polished."

Welp... maybe they had no idea about the 'Spinning Sidewinder of Infinity'. Because that would make them wrong. ;)

Remember what I said about ED getting a pass and not SC? Why does ED get to use the term 'for and alpha', but not SC? :S

The shield sure ain't bullet proof. But so many of the bullets that are flying over here or of such small caliber.... :eek:

Because ED was smooth and polished for an alpha, and SC is not.

I liked it so much I bought the company (and they threw in this vintage shaver)!
